Its free. You get a picnic table and a parking spot. Nice people. Stayed two nights in late November.
Free spot right outside the Petrified Forest. Picnic tables and flat spots. Pull through and back-in spots. Great store with a lot to see!!
Free parking lot. Clean area surrounded by huge pieces of Petrified wood
Rangers chased me out of the park and I drove right into this wonderful spot. Owner greeted me and asked if I had a toilet in my Little camper. I said yes and she welcomed me to spend the night. Later I heard an argument between the owner and a car camper who tried to sneak into the lot to sleep and she threw them out because they did not have a toilet and neither does she. Could not believe how quiet it was and how bright the stars were.
Just as advertised, simple and quiet. We pulled in at sundown, made dinner, watched a movie and slept a quiet night. No ATT or Sprint 4g/LTE data coverage.
We read about this and wondered. Called and it was confirmed - self contained = free. FIRST cOME FIRST SF ED. There is no longer electric but it was just fine! Clean, neat and a huge dumpster - Shale on anyone who leaves a mess. We got a spot with a table. Nice neighbors too! Went to the gift shop to make a purchase, spent a great night! Thank you to the business owners who keep this going!
Just as advertised, free, quiet, max stay 4 days, great people, great store.
Crystal forest does not have electrical that works, but the gift shop across the road has 3 spots with electric for $10.61.
We stopped here for a night so we could visit the Petrified Forest National Park. We were really happy with the convenience of the location and time can't beat a free spot for the night. It was quiet and clean.
Cute place! Museums and parking. Got here late but used parking area to boondock for an early start in the morning into the park.
We stayed overnight at the parking lot in the left (sign says Free Camping). No facilities but level spots. Stake out a spot early as it filled up towards sunset.
