Reviews for Cumberland Gap National Historic Park / Wilderness Road Campground

| Great park

Pros: Plenty of space between sites. Very treed. Very well organised. Lovely hikes, good trails. Cons: A bit too civilised. Some traffic noise. Would definitely use again if opportunity presents.

| Exceptional for a National Park

By user-6410755... on 2017-10-23.

Two loops, 45 total sites, have 20, 30, and 50 amp electric. These sites are paved and most are reasonably level. Some would handle a big rig. Some sites are very unlevel and small. Comfort stations throughout the park. Showers are separate from toilets. Two very large individual shower rooms with lockable door for privacy. If all 140 sites were occupied the showers and toilets would be inadequate. Fresh water and dump on site.

Camp here the beginning of October, no reservation, but found a beautiful site. Nice wooded sites and good amount of space between them. Nice, clean showers and bathrooms. Would definitely stay here again

By user-5731795... on 2017-10-23.

We CAMP here every year in May for the raid of martin station . This year got to come down a second time had never before had trouble with electric but this trip down pn our site the breaker kept kept kicking off. We reported to 2 guys that was on national park uniforms they wanted to say it was probably pur camper not the 30 amp box and saying we were overloading it they at like theory didn't want to help we went and got adapter 50amp to 30amp and it didn't kick out np more was alittle disappointed that they didn't want to come and just look at it. But we will be back it's a nice place to camp

This was our first Park without reservations. Late September, and the middle of the week. Easy and plenty of spaces. The Camp Host stopped by to see if we needed anything. Very nice couple. Showers are separate from bathrooms witch is nice. Only stay one night but would stay again. Would have like to stay longer to hike the trails. Maybe next time.

Very nice and clean. Tons of shade! Not many full hookup sites. We would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very reasonable rates at $20/night for electricity. Not a lot of electrical sites but we had a beautiful one. No reservations but we had no troubles middle of the week. Lots to do and see in the area.
