Reviews for Curt Gowdy State Park

| Nice Park

This is a nice park with good spacing on RV sites. Some are electric only, (30 & 50), some have water & electric. Some sites are not level and some will be tight for rigs over 35 ft. Vault toilets only; no showers. Would stay here again.

We stayed at the Tumbleweed campground because it has water and electric. It's very exposed with no shade. Wasn't a problem in September but would be a consideration in the summer months. Our site was level but I noticed a lot that aren't. Vault toilets, no showers at our campground (not sure about the other campgrounds, and no dump station. We stopped here en route to Oregon specifically to ride the mountain bike trails and we're glad we did.

| Pretty park but roads are dreadful.

Very spaced out. Some level spaces. No to very limited shade. No dump, Road is wash board and dusty. Must reserve electric 2 or more days in advance. Beautiful vistas and interesting rock formations.

Beautiful landscape, lakes and great hiking trails, fishing, and spread out camp sites. Showers are available in visitors center and they are very nice. Small fee <$1 for shower and camp site $17. Highly recommend!

| NO DUMP STATION!

Their web site says there is a dump station but there's isn't one. No one told us in check in. Also the water was horrible smelly-sulfur. Checked out a day early.

| Beautiful spot - awesome trails!

We were pleasantly surprised with all this campground had to offer. There are trails all over to explore (I believe the map said 22 miles total). Some trails allow ATVs, they have archery trails, and they even map out the difficulty of the trails - most of which are easy/intermediate. We stayed in Aspen Grove and the campsites were very close together but we got lucky and no one was there the night we stayed. We explored the other sites around the campground, though, and there were more sites spread out and some even on the water. The site plus reservation fee (non electric) was $35 total. You re supposed to check in, but we got in after the office closed at 5pm and didn t have service to call as directed but it honestly didn t seem to make a big difference either way. They have a little camp store with firewood and ice for sale but the hours are 8-5pm only and it s closed on Monday which was unfortunate for us. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Picturesque. Beautiful weather so it is especially enjoyable. Staff are friendly and courteous. For the price a great place to hang out for a couple of days.

| Very nice..... but

We stayed here for 4 days. We had site t20 in Tumbleweed campground. Beautiful view of the lake. Very disappointed that they had no dump station. What we were told was "because of cost". They have a VERY NICE visitors center....suspicious that they cant afford to put in a simple dump station. Some sites were pretty crummy and not level. We got lucky tho!! This is a 23 mile drive back to Cheyenne and worked out well while visiting Fontier Days.
