Nice campground at woods. We saw a deer walking by. It's inconvenient to fill the water, and no dump station. We had no choice to reserve one night at Game Lodge and one night here. S Dakota State charged us $7.70 Non Resident Fee for each night.

Absolutely gorgeous scenery and easy travel to Custer for food and fuel. Stayed in site 24 which had room for the picnic table and fire ring to be level with trailer. Most sites they were downhill from site. Very spacious sites though. Cannot see Stockade Lake from park. Also dump station is quiet a distance as was the water supply. We were there for 3 days and next stop had full hook ups so it wasn't an issue for us as we have a 5th wheel.

We stayed for 3 nights on our way to Yellowstone and really enjoyed the park, campgrounds, an surrounding Black Hills area. The campground is conviently located close to the town of Custer which was a plus. Site spacing and layout is good, facilities good, park staff good! No complaints, would stay again.

This is a beautiful park. Spots are pretty level and very well spaced. Tons of things to see & do locally from Rushmore to Crazyhorse to hikes, fishing. Weak WiFi & elec only kept it from being 5 star
