This place is the worst place to live
Former Decatur resident, checking out mobile home parks for RV sites to stay at when visiting the area. I know Decatur Estates, formerly Jasper mobile home park, from many decades ago when some friends lived here. The park has been cleaned up considerably since that time, and makes a better first impression. Possibly due to vacancies and wanting to increase revenue, they now offer RV sites. Surprisingly there were only a few RVs here, and several looked abandoned. There are plenty of RV sites scattered throughout the park. You will recognize them by a 50 amp electric pigtail hanging out of a conduit stubbed up from the ground, or in some cases just laying on the ground. All sites are back-in spaces with two paved strips for wheels, and a paved patio slab. Some sites also have off street parking for cars on another paved slab. Overall this park has the most older mobile homes compared to the other parks in town. Most are well kept for their age, and there are some newer models here too. There is no pool but according the their website they have laundry facilities. Location is close enough to shopping and is more in town that the other mobile home parks. Streets are a decent width for maneuvering, and are in good shape, with no annoying speed bumps. My three star rating is based on other reviews I have found for this park, the impression I got when driving through, and the lack of RVs I saw here, in comparison to the other parks in town.
