Came to Deshler for a model train show over the 1st weekend of July. Made reservations with the town clerk. Given clear directions to location. Not clear if you were supposed to parallel park or back into hookups. RV dump at a near by intersection but took some searching to find. Shaded area at all locations and near by play grounds for kids. Picnic areas by park. Cost is free-will offering Appeared to be additional rv parking on gravel area west of park but with no shade.

We really enjoyed our 2 nights camping at the Deshler City Park. The town is very friendly and everyone waves. Spoke with the city clerk who explained that the camping was free with electric and water for three nights and then $10/day. She apologIzed for the lack of a sIgn at the park about the locatIon of the dump statIon and other camp InformatIon. They were workIng on part of the park road and they had closed the pool for the season but the bathrooms were still open.

We read the reviews and decided to try this out ... then saw the sign for free RV parking on our way in. When we got here there was only one other RV. The location is great, right next to shaded picnic tables with a playground across the street. The parking is a little confusing, if you parallel park you take up more than one spot. Backing in would require unhooking tow vehicle in order not to stick too far out, but no biggy. I d say there are maybe 10 sites, some with water. All have electric. I ve read that there is a dump onsite but haven t looked for it yet. All in all, very pleased and hoping for a nice restful sleep.
