Reviews for Destin RV Beach Resort

| Not so great anymore

By user-6362052... on 2017-10-23.

This is a follow-up to my review posted above. A lot has changed. We stayed the month of March 2015. Rate has more than doubled to $1100 with surcharges for water, electric, and I kid you not, they charged me $31 just for the privilege of taking my reservation. Then they charged a 50% deposit and took the balance a week before we arrived. The place went condo and a couple owners gave me grief for having a second car (which we told them we had when we made our reservation) while same owners loaded their sites with golf carts, utility trailers, and grandkids bikes. The sprinkler system was malfunctioning and hosing down my 5th wheel all over the side under my awning. Took 3 weeks to fix, had to throw towels over 3 sprinkler heads every night just so my belongings would stay dry. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Won't take anything small that 21 ft. Only rich snobs can go in, and seems very tight for the big rvs. Go somewhere else, don't let these guys have your money.

If you told me I had to pick one place to park before you took the wheels off my rig, it would be here. We stayed here for a month when we travelled the country for a year. The nicest place ever. The pictures do justice. At the top of my list to return. Short walk to beach for sunsets, fantastic showers and facilities.

While yes they have requirements for rigs for long term stays it was a joy to stay here. The location is fantastic, the people were great, the landscaping perfect. We considered buying a spot here (they're individually owned but there are none for sale

| We liked the park

Not sure why this park gets a bad rap because we had a very good experience. The check-in was very good, the pool is nice, the bathrooms are clean, the sites are level but just a little on the tight side and you are right across the street from the beach with a private access area. We came there with virtually 2 days notice as our original reservations were cancelled at Topsail due to hurricane Michael. The price is a tweak on the higher side of what we typically pay but due to the circumstances we were ok in getting a site at the inflated price. You can walk to the beach, walk to a couple local food establishments, walk to some bars, walk to the grocery store and even walk to the outlet mall if you are in good walking shape. We had a good time and all the people staying there were really friendly. We met people that come back there time and time again and we can see why. We will definitely recommend this park but we truly enjoy the state parks.

This is a smaller park with 36 paved, landscaped full hookup sites around a U shaped road. Met by very nice staff and given a map to our site. Nice small pool, no playground, dog walking area is the grassy area between the park fence and Miramar Beach Rd. We were on the south side of the park backing on to a retail store that was noisy from early morning till after 9pm. Three minute walk to the beach and miles of white sand. Lots of shops and restaurants in close proximity. Propane refills available at the hardware store on the highway north of the park. Excellent security at night when the gates work. Don't arrive late or you won't get in. Expensive.

| The security wasn't optimal

The walk-thru gates didn't have automatic closing feature, so most of the time they were left open (the dog walk was outside the fence on a public road). The drive-thru exit gate wasn't working while we were there so it was left open as well. The landscaping was nice, the spots were nice and paved. Too bad the park isn't on the beach, it was a bit of a hike.

Was gonna book 2 weeks there last of May-june. 122.00 per night?? That's crazy. Won't be staying there.
