This park has some great views. From my living room windows, the sunrise over the lake was magnificent! Kind of extremely tight turn to get into the first camping area for a 5th wheel.

We arrived at site 86 on Friday. Site was listed as "severe grade" . I brought extra leveling blocks just in case. The site was level and worked great for my 26'tt and long bed x cab . Extra blocks not needed. Bath houses are clean and well kept. Plenty of site space and in between. Can't wait to come back.

This lovely park is about 20 minutes from the freeway, but it is worth the drive. There are two sections, and you will encounter the A Loop before you get to the Visitor Center. It seemed cramped so we drove out to the B Loop which is about a mile away. Every site seemed to have a view of the lake. The asphalt pads were mostly level. The showers were fine, although they needed another hook or a bench. It was nice to have water and electricity in such a rustic setting. We loved it here!

| Nice state park

We have stayed in several state parks around SC and this one was very nice. Can't beat the views of Lake Murray - we have friends who live on the lake and they drive their boat right up to our campsite to pick us up. I hear it stays very crowded, so book early. Campsites are pretty close together.

Stayed in site 97 in a 19 ft teardrop trailer overlooking the lake. A most beautiful campground. Our site had ample room from neighbors with great views of woods and waters. We had water and 30 amp electric. The restrooms were old but clean. We hope to stay here again.

| First experience with a SC State Park

By user-5416085... on 2017-10-23.

My wife and i just purchased our first travel trailer and decided to stay close to home for first experience. We were blown away with how beautiful the park was and that we were right up to the water on our site. It's just the basics with with water and electric hookups at each site but they do have a dump station as you are leaving the area. There were a tremendous amount of shade trees and the scenery was first rate. You can't beat the value at just 25 dollars a night. It couldn't have been a more perfect place for our first time out.

| Another Great SC State Park

Dreher Island SP another magnificent SC state park located on an island on Lake Murray. Two camping loops. Islander Camp Loop more suitable for larger rigs, while Angler Loop park is primarily smaller sites. Both camping loops are one-way asphalt roads. The park is expansive with plenty of space. Sites on the outside of the loop all have amazing water views and access to the lake. Most sites are paved back-ins, fairly level and easily accessible W/E hook-up. Bathhouses were older but fairly clean and serviceable. Lots of area to walk, ride bikes or swim in the lake.

Campground was awesome! It was the perfect spot for our family for the week. The kids had a blast playing in the water and boating. Will def be returning in the future.
