KOA
By user-5547055... on 2017-10-23.
$27/night w/Good Sam.
Concret & pea gravel so no mud, but would be dusty when windy. No grass, trees, pool or clubhouse. Laundry was small, but clean. $1 wash, .25/12 minutes/dry.
Far enough from fwy to be quiet. Behind Camping World.

Desert
By user-5248543... on 2017-10-23.
It is in the desert so, heat & dust is to be expected. They're in the process of installing a pet exercise area, complete with shade trees & grass. Big spaces, big roads, small but very clean showers & laundry, good staff & behind Camping World for convience of RV items. Close to Loves & Flying J. Stayed here for a week. Would stay here again.

If not busy, just fine for a one night stay. Has a bit of a drive-in movie feel.

About what I expected

The "campground" was a very nice parking lot on the desert. Very dusty, but it's the desert!
The spots were wide and easy for us to pull thru. No complaints and a compliment to the office staff, as they were very friendly
The Camping World next door was handy too!

We stayed here for the past two weeks and it was just what we needed. I understand some people are disappointed with this KOA if they prefer campgrounds with tons of amenities, but for us it was all about location. We wanted to be in a rural area outside the city to experience the desert a bit better - it was a beautiful backdrop. It was centrally located to visit Franklin Mt State Park and White Sands. I used the laundry a few times and only had to wait for a machine once - 4 washer, 4 dryers, and all were clean. Jessica in the office was very friendly and helpful!

Great views of the mountains! Good location, close to a lot of restaurants and activities. WiFi connection was not good at all, but besides that, no complaints!

We’ve overnighted here a few times. Staff is always very courteous. Located next to a small Camping World store. Verizon cel coverage is good. Many over the air TV stations and park WIFI is good. $36 with either KOA or Military discount.

Would not use again
By user-6467477... on 2019-08-09.
Arrived one evening after booking over the phone. Attendant was very pleasant and helpful. She gave us great directions through the road construction. Site was okay. Right off of interstate 10. The bathrooms and showers were very disappointing. Had not been cleaned well in some time. Mildew in toilet, shower coated in soap scum, black grit, and stray hair. If you have an RV with full facilities, this is an okay place to camp for the night. I would not recommend otherwise.

Big flat gravel area.
Fantastic dog park.
Bring your big rig and tow vehicle right on in here !
Take the dogs into the dog park.
I usually stay for a week .

Located behind Camping World. Large gravel sites. Mostly level. Just a big parking lot but quite and clean. Nice dog park. Large pull through sites. We were in a 34 class A with a tow and didn t have to unhook. We would stay here again.

We really liked this campground. Man in the office was very nice and helpful, Hi Lily.
Everything was gravel, 3 sewer hookups per site, lots of water pressure, there was a cable hook up on our post, but no cable apparently. Easy in, easy out. Right behind camping world which came in hand, when we got to the campground, our air conditioner shroud was hanging over the edge of the roof, all 4 screw holes had broken, what kept it from falling into traffic is beyond me.

Any port in a storm

Look at the photos. A gravel parking lot next to a Camping World lot. Do have 50 amp, water, and sewer; but no cable, even though there is a cable port in the pedestal. They disconnected cable last winter. VERY hard to get here from I-10, no matter what they say. We came from thre east, and we were routed out exit zero, onto a service road, under the interstate , back toward the west on a service road to turn onto a Camping World entrance, then off to the left behind the storage lot for their RVs. Subject to strong winds that nearly blow you off your feet, but maybe this partof Texas is like this everywhere. We are glad to be off the road in this 65 mph wind. They say it was worse last week!
The store is tiny inside the office. Small building behind the office for showers/laundry. Bare necessities, but a good port in a storm.
