The good.... located just west of probably the prettiest place in Idaho. Staff is accommodating and cafe is inexpensive with great good. The bad..... does not deserve too be called a resort, sites are very primitive, dusty dirty and unappealing. Could not get satellite or cable, water pressure at upper sites is weak, and appears to have many permanent resident units which have seen their better days. Bottom line...It's the only place in town but made Stanley less enjoyable for me. I don't think that I'll return.
Elk mountain is now called Stanley RV due to under new owner/management. We pulled in and was disappointed that the restaurant wasn t open. We were looking forward to not having to cook. They had 2 washer and dryers but 1 of each only worked. They were complimentary but due to the cost it should be. We campedrrd on my the upper level and the garbage can was all the way to the main entrance (approx 1000 yards up and down a hill). The positive is they have physically put in a lot of elbow grease cleaning up the place. The old junkie RV & trailers are gone. It is very quiet.
