Reviews for Elkhorn Campground

| Good for a quick stop

Stayed one night in November. Bath houses were closed for the season, so I can't comment on those. Back-in sites were nice and level and backed up to a creek. Easy access to major roads and downtown Frankfort. Friendly staff. Pull through spaces were pretty close together without much landscaping. In all, on the nicer end of the parking lot style campgrounds.

Great park. 1st night we were on a w/e site right net to the river. Shaded, level, large site. Sat in the backyard and fished. Moved to a full hookup site the rest of the stay. 35' motorhome and car just fit on the site. There were wooden patios on most of the full hookup sites. Plenty of things for children to do. Playground, pool, fishing etc. It was Christmas in July when we were there. Santa was there, free drinks, & free cupcakes. They have special things each month. Some of the sites need work on the pavement pads, holey and unlevel. Would stay here again.

one of the nicest parks we have stayed in, site was kinda level and long, new bathhouse is really nice, park is very quite, lots of long term rv's. was hard to find following the gps directions from I-64. stayed three days while exploring the area, short trip to the Ark Encounter plus other attractions. will stay again if ever in the area.

| Good location. Nice Park

Other than the bridge construction that made eastbound access tricky, we enjoyed this park, as our home base for touring Lexington and Louisville. Stayed 4 night in 32'MH towing a jeep. Would stay there again. PS: They have great ice cream!

| Probably won't stay again

Good points:. Quiet, clean and new restrooms, nice laundry, convenient location, great cable, reasonable propane refill, friendly and accomadating staff. Didn't like: Site #85B, 90 degree tight backin, narrow tarred pad next to built in wooden deck, water and electricity served 4 sites. Very crowded (but quiet) on the 2 weekends we were there. Some sites were not level. Would consider staying again but only in a pull through site. We have a 34 foot 5th wheel and a full size pick up

Stayed here overnight, lady who answered the phone was very helpful, gave me a great site and handled everything over the phone. Our site (13) backed up to a very picturesque creek with geese and birds enjoying the water. Everything on site worked well and park seemed very clean. Did not use showers, so no review there. Nice and quiet.

Very nice, quiet park. Our site backed up to a very picturesque creek with geese and birds enjoying the water. The lady who answered the phone was very helpful and she took care of arrangements over the phone. Nice stay.

We enjoyed our stay. The sites were a little to close together. The staff was very friendly. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. Clean restrooms and a very nice pavilion. We will visit it again.

Very nice park. Big rig friendly. Our spot backed right up to a creek. Very clean new restroom and bath house. Great spot for visiting distilleries.

| A great park in Central KY

My family (Me, wife, 3 kids) stayed here as our base of operations for visits to Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati, as well as central KY horse farms. The park is clean and well maintained. The bath house is new as well as the pool. This is a very nice family run campground. During the summer the park fills up quickly with campers and children. My family will definitely stay here again when we return to KY.

| Very Nice Campground

Only recommendation would be to have a few pull in spots along the beautiful river. Was a shame, with the bad weather we had, not to be able to see the river out the windshield of our RV. Friendly staff, level sites and lots to do in the area - if you stop and enjoy microbreweries check out West 6 Farm. Great place. We met a great couple who recommended we drive over to Keenland and watch the races. We did and it was a GREAT day.

Really friendly owner, arrived late. He let us choose any campsite. Bathhouse was really clean and new. Flat camp ground. $20 for the night.

This was a great place to stay until it rained then we were parked in a muddy mess. It was a bit pricey for no sewer but the lady at the desk was super nice. The park was quiet. The geese in the creek behind us were fun to watch. I would stay again on a dry week! I

This place is nothing to write home about. The owners were not super friendly and they pass on the 3% charge on credit cards. The sites were not level and they were very close together, if you like that kind of campground. The only thing really good were the restrooms and showers.

| Not the best site for bigger rigs

By user-6537116... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-07-28 to 2019-08-02

Quiet park with with a mix of seasonal and transient guests. Very narrow pads and streets. A number of other guests told me that they did not get the site that they booked. Seems that the campground rents sites which are too small for the rigs, causing tow vehicles to have to park in the street. Great water pressure and decent Verizon signal.
