We camped here because we needed to be in the Port Huron area for the weekend. Wooded camp with lots of shade. We had a pullthru full hookup site that was very small and narrow and dirt only. If you only need electric, the outter edge sites are better. However being a KOA, you can't pick your specific site. Amenities are ok. Good snack bar with pizza and ice cream, nice little arcade, and a camp store that had anything you may need. Swim pond water ok with some fun large water play items like a log roll, teeter ball and slide. Nice little fenced dog area to let your dog off tie out for a bit. Mini golf isn't worth doing even if it was free. You have to pay additional for other activities. Restroom building wasn't clean and very smelly. Playground area is nice if no rain otherwise it is low ground and can be soggy. We paid $70/night which we think is steep for what we got.
The pull through sites are small with dirt, not much grass. Our site was extremely muddy because it rained earlier that day. Most of the back in sites are nicer. They have grass. All sites are pretty shady. There are a lot of trees. The amenities are nice. We ordered a pizza at the snack bar and it was actually quite good. It's a typical KOA though where you have to pay for pretty much every extra thing you want to do. Which is disappointing since the site we had was $70 per night. I probably wouldn't have stayed here but we needed a campsite in the area and there aren't many other options.
We got super delayed due to construction traffic. We called to say we were going to get there by 11pm. They actually called again to verify we were coning and were very explicit with late night details which was appreciated. When we pulled in the owner met us and was wonderful and helpful. Our site was pretty open and really close to the neighbors fire pit so we were happy it was so late and they had retired for the night. It is a fairly crowded facility with the majority of campers full time - or it appeared. We didn t use any of the facilities so I can t comment on that. But appreciated the professionalism of theonwers.
