Well maintain. One price 20$ with electricity.
My husband didn't want me to write a review - he said lets keep this a secret. If you enjoy national and State parks you would enjoy this county park. There are over 1000 acres of hiking overlooks and many other activities. There are a level gravel pull through's and back ins. Electric is provided but no water on site. They have great wifi though. The Rangers are very helpful and always around.
Well thought out gravel sites with plenty of grass, trees, and vegetation between sites that spaced nicely apart. Electric only sites with 50, 30, and 20 amp service. Water available throughout the campground but not at individual sites. Shower house is very strange. Showers are adequate but the only space to undress dress dry off even put your towel clothes and other stuff is out in the open. So if public nudity bothers you or you are the least bit modest then this is not for you. Dump station on site. Firewood available 6 to 630 PM each day. Picnic table and fire ring at every site. Good WiFi.
Very friendly camp host. We just needed a place to stay the night. Beautiful place! Too bad we had to hit the road so soon.
We stopped here for the night so we could visit Amana and enjoy the food and wine available there. THe park is county run but real nice. The lake was under repair so it was dry but overall it is a nice place to stay.
Beautifully maintained park. Camp Host on duty was very nice and helpful. Sites were spaced apart decently. Several pull thru. We saw the ranger but he never bothered us. Came by to check the post for our payment and that was it. Felt very safe as he did do several drive bys. Beautiful playground by large bathroom/shower house. They even had cute little book exchange set up. Wifi was great. We went to Amana Colonies which wasn’t far I think about 15 min away. Would definitely stay here again.
This place is probably a great place to "get away from it all" but is not set up for passing through. The dump is set up for exiting the park, so you have to do some strategic turning around and three-point turns to dump coming off the road first. There is fresh water at the dump, but the CG spigots are placed every six to twelve sites with no room on the road to pull over to fill. Most all of the sites have some kind of serious leveling issues and there is absolutely NO CELL service at the bottom of the CG. The mosquitoes are exceptionally abundant and aggressive!! This place is exhausting!
Sites are spaced well and the grounds are well maintained. Shower building was good and clean and showers were free. The change area in the showers didn’t bother us. The showers are large enough that you could change in the shower if you wanted to, there are hooks right at the entrance. We had cell service but our site was at the top near the entrance. Unfortunately the lake was closed. Maybe that’s why it was so quiet. We arrived on a Friday evening and there were many sites to choose from.
Continued: We needed an overnight on Labor day weekend. Drive through or back in. Level spots. Spaced out nicely. Electric hook up for 20, 30, or 50 amp. About half full due to Lake being drained for the season. One shower house with flush toilets very clean. Pit toilets around the rest of the park. Mixed hardwood forest for walking/hiking. Dog friendly. Take the camping loop around and exit to fill-up on fresh water and dump if needed before parking. Very nice host, very available.
Here in October and trees were all turning, very pretty. Park was very well maintained and very quiet. Checkout was at 5 pm which was great. $20 per night for electric only but got water when we left. Also had dump site. Would definitely go back.
Really nice quiet place. Clean sites, level gravel parking. The park is visible from the highway but the campsites are further in the park. Be aware that at 10am on Wednesday morning there is a test of the fire alarm. Check out is 5pm which is normally unheard of at a campsite.
Not sure why, but there were only about a dozen occupied sites. Electric at each site, water nearby throughout park and dump station on way out. Sites are nice size and fairly level. Gorgeous setting. Nice showers. Dressing area is pretty open. You could dress within shower area but it wouldn t be easy. Would recommend highly. About 20 minute drive in Amanda.
