Visited Thanksgiving 2014, one of the 2 sections of the park has been renovated. The sites are flat and spread out. The several of the sites are arranged to make great group camping. Lots of big trees. We try to stay somewhere different every time we go camping. Liked it so much we already booked spring break here.
4 out 5 simply because only 30A electric and no sewage but do not let that stop you from visiting. Camping spots are "assigned" upon entry by the front staff. They do assign the lakeside spots first, but there are many of them and the lake view sites are actually quite beautiful. The Cooks Ferry area is extremely nice with all asphalt paved roads and RV Camp sites. Many have plenty of room for 2 or 3 vehicles to park. A fire ring is available when a burn ban is not active. Many hiking and biking trails available as well as a large recreational and fishing lake.
Loved camping here. Great upgrades to the campsites. Restrooms were clean and well laid out where everything didn't get wet while showering. The trails were not true singletrack but still challenging as well as a good amount of mileage.
