One of the best state parks we have stayed at. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful surroundings with the oaks and cypress draped in Spanish Moss. Showers and restrooms were clean. Free laundry facility in the bath house. Otis House museum on site and tours are free for seniors. Boardwalk on the swamp trail. Boat launch on- site. Wish there was sewer at the campsite, but the dump stations are clean. Paid $20 a night plus reservation fee. Includes day use fee. Not very crowded this time of year.
Wow, what a find. Very nice park. We called ahead because we were arriving a couple minutes after the office was supposed to close. The park ranger met us on arrival and got us checked in. Nice sites. Beautiful River!
Very clean. Good accommodations. Boat launch is very good. Be sure to take a tour of the house.
Stayed here for 1 night, nice and quiet. Paid $24 including tax. Try to avoid staying under the acorn trees though! Bathrooms could have been a bit better maintained - toilets dirty, mouldy showers and shower curtains made it a bit gross.
And free laundry to campers! 2 washers/dryers in each bathhouse, beautiful find!!! Is quiet during week, was full and a little crowded on weekend. Lovely boardwalk by river, and through swamp. Great place out of city if visiting the area as a whole..just few minutes to the causeway and into N.O. Town of Madisonville very cute. Sad to leave here... :)
very clean and beautiful, but not much to do if you don't bring a boat.. house was closed due to a/c issues.
Great location, very quiet, great grounds. Bring your camera! On site boat launch. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the lack of dump at each site. Two dump stations to choose from instead. A slight inconvenience.
$34, A little ridiculous to me for a State Park. Staff, however, were super!!!
This Park is close to town and very convenient. We spent 2 nights while traveling back west. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The park is kept clean and RV spaces are large and there is plenty of space between neighbors. We walked the campground and boardwalk bit other than this, we didn't do much more than rest and take on the beauty. We were in space #50.
