Reviews for Flagstaff KOA

we arrived in our 31 ft motorhome. when checking in the staff does not go thru anything with you. Just takes your money. I had to go back several time to ask hat the wifi access code is and if there was a channel line up listing etc. We had someone bring us to our site and the usual 1 way road. I asked about since there was a tree right by the exit where I needed to turn, if it would be a problem getting out, she just commented make a wide turn and then she left. I was shocked. most sites are extremely unlevel. making it a challenge. hookups are not convenient. the place is so crammed with people you just don't get that camp experience. there is so much staff with no service. Upon leaving a returning some leveling boards we borrowed. I had 2 and my 10 year old daughter had 2 we passed by 2 workers standing and talking. They didn't even offer to take them. I would never stay here again. I truly feel I was taken for!

The park has lots of trees mostly where you need to turn branches are low. Sites have some gravel and they are not level. Exit is not marked turn was very difficult because of parked cars.

| OK PLACE TO VISIT NORTHERN AZ FROM

Obviously an older KOA. This place is a bit long in the tooth and needs some grooming. Long grass & weeds contributes to the mountain meadows environment but also breeds lots of bugs. Spots are pretty close together and some are even almost level - but not a lot. Our little 21 ft RV fit fine. 4 stars is because of the great staff, very nice & clean facilities and perfect place to base for exploring Northern AZ..

| Really nice... but expensive

We had a really good experience at this park. However, we had one of the premium end units with the patio and fireplace... which was really nice. The staff was really nice and this place had the fastest Wifi that we've had thus far... better than my Verizon MiFi! As we walked around the park, I would not be happy with the standard or even deluxe sites... as they were pretty tight. So, if you have a big rig, you may want to cough up more money for a premium site. My only other small complaint is that the roads to the sites is a little tight.. but not scary.

| Great KOA

We stayed here for 1 night in a 37' Motorhome. We typically try to avoid KOA's to steer clear of the screaming crazy kids, but most other RV sites were booked. I have to say this KOA was very well run and in my opinion "one of a kind". Pro's: Extremely nice staff! Easy to work with and accommodating! Food Trailers! They have a food trailer that sells breakfast most mornings! This was a nice touch. Game Room: They have a game room with a pool table and old school arcade games. General Store: stocked with most everything you forgot to bring ! Bikes: they rent bikes for kids to keep them occupied and busy! Train Rides: everyday they offer train rides for all the kids around the park! The conductor even gave rides during the rain! Nature trail: short nature walking trail behind (but inside) the park. Dog Park! They had 2 great fenced in dog parks. 1 for large breeds and a separate park for small breeds! This was much appreciated for my 12 lb love bug! 2 dump station. 1 at the entrance and 1 at the exit. Cons: Not many! Sites are a bit tight. Not much privacy from your neighbor. Roads are tight. The roads inside the park were very tight to navigate. We actually had to go down a wrong way/one way road to fit into our site. Overall a very good stay!

Nice over night stay, great dog park, I just wish people would pick up after their pets especially after KOA supplies you with the park, poop bags, GARBAGE CAN, and water bowl.

| Great for 36 foot or less

By user-5176563... on 2017-10-23.

We drive a 40 foot MH and we were able to get in and out, but barely. Nice trees and camping feel, good wifi, Verizon, OTA tv. We could get sat, but most could not.

| OK, everyone is right, bring extra blocking because of the unlevel site. But:

The staff is great, breakfast was wonderful, the laundry is one of the best, the shower and restrooms are clean. Nice pets areas, wonderful Forest and the mountain as a bad drop can't is beat. It's our third time here and we will come again.

| Fun... but a bit tight.

This experience for our family (6 of us, kids ranging from ages 3-12) was mixed... not really bad but also not really that great either. I can confirm some areas are a little tight even with one way traffic... but we were able to manage alright with some backwards driving on our TT to get into our back-in site. Site was a bit narrow but pretty deep. Our neighboring site had it worse than us with their RV. Leveling did use a couple blocks but not terribly difficult... I have had worse for sure. Staff was doing their job, but not much more thn that. Not overly friendy. I didnt need much more than directions to our site and no more was offered. No escort to site. No real complaints but not what I am used to at KOA. Call ahead for burn ban info. We bring a propane roadtrip grill but found that in addition to no campfires, also no charcoal or proane grilling outside. Created a shift in our meal plans, but not the campgrounds fault. The kids really had fun with the jumping pillow and the playground was a lot of fun. We missed not having a pool though. We did not eat at the little cafe to give a review on that. It was a little busy for the weekend, but no more than many of our other KOA experiences. Surely not on par with my expectations for a KOA Holiday... but still better than other allternatives.

| Not for 45 ft. motorhomes

By user-5794796... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2018-09-18 to 2018-09-19

The information states that it is for big rigs, however, the roads are very narrow and most sites are not wide enough. Once in our site we had no room to sit out and forget using the picnic table. For a patio site it was not up to our expectations for a KOA. The staff was friendly, waited on two people ahead of me and didn't seem to care. I was provided a map with directions to our site, but no escort. I thought all KOAs brought you to your site. I would not recommend this campground for anything over 36 ft.

Stayed for 3 nights in Flagstaff with a caravan of three rigs. We arrived super late at night but our registration was waiting for us in a little box up front. We could easily find our sites. The campground gets pretty dark though. We all booked premium patio sites and they were great. I can definitely see how some sites are unlevel though. Spaces are a little tight and you'll be close to your neighbor. But otherwise it's a clean campground and in a great location. Hiking trails are connected to the campground as well, right at the base of Mt Elden. Can't beat that! We had a pleasant stay and would definitely come back again.

A bit pricey but it is a nicely wooded park with hiking and lots of amenities. Roads are paved and sites are gravel and fairly level. Not real spacious sites but plenty of room for your slides. We really like this park and I bet it's a busy one during the spring and summer. And, it looks pretty in the snow!

| Normally an RVer

By user-6350521... on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-04-16 to 2019-04-18

Normally we RV but this time we rented a cabin for my family. We were told the cabin would sleep 8 but only 2 adults and 4 small children would fix. As a result my wife and I rented a small cabin. The cabin was air tight but the electrical wiring was real questionable, including exposed wiring. The outside light didn't work, the window screens where broken so we couldn't open the windows. Not pleased.

| Shaded with trees

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-04-26 to 2019-04-28

Very accomodating & friendly staff. Very large facility. Spendy for gravel, close quaters sites that are less then level, but managable. WIFI/Internet is slow, but usable. Good cable. Found the tree shade and light breeze a very welcome, especially in the afternoon.

| Expensive for tenting.

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Dry camping was $38 when we were here, and $45 if you wanted electrical. Highly suggest walking or driving in to locate the site you d like.

Big park, but very tight spaces. Roads between sites in poor condition. I didn t see any level sites anywhere around us. Not as good as I would expect for the money.

| Totally okay

By user-6108889... on 2019-08-09.

Not all sites are level as already mentioned below. Sites are also small but you got all you need - fire pit - table... Bathrooms are clean and showers are great They have a small breakfast food truck open in the morning with super acceptable pricing
