Flies!

No problem with space, hooks, or staff. The cow smells came & went, but the flies were annoying...lots & lots of the pesky critters.n

Not acceptable for us

Probably par by KOA standards, but not acceptable for us. Be aware of VERY rough, gravel/dirt road access to the park. Checkin was ok, and nice mgr guided us to our gravel spot near front of park. Some long-term campers in back had concrete pad. At night, there was a terrible stinch from the cattle feedlot, located directly east and adjacent to the park. This was never mentioned in the park's description or in other RV Park Reviews. Individual bathrooms were clean and large, but handicap accessible room was not open. Entire park is covered in weed stickers, and essentially no area to walk your dog. I would not stay here again, nor recommend to other RVers.

The campground is close to I25, and out a ways from town. So, it makes for easy on/off. We had reservations, but called ahead because we were going to arrive late (due to highway closure for a severe accident earlier in the day), and one of the staffers stayed an extra 15 or 20 minutes. We caught him tapping our instructions to the office door. Restrooms and showers were small and few, but clean. There are very nice private showers available, but only during office hours. Free coffee, too. We did catch some of the cattle aroma during hookup, but the wind must've shifted, because it wasn't a problem the next morning. A train did go close by about 8:30pm, but we didn't hear any after that. The noise from the highway was noticeable, but more as "background" noise than nuisance. We also noticed an abundance of pesky flies. We found the staff warm and friendly. Why do they have this rule: "No hair dye in the showers, please."

Good stay

They charged me 5 dollars extra for my 4 year old daughter. Other than that it is a nice place, good view of the mountains. Decent store and good clean restrooms/showers. There are about 200 yards of gravel road to get to the entrance.

Even thought we just stayed overnight, we had a great campsite. Enjoyed our stay! Staff was very helpful.

Lots are roomy / driveways / roads throughout park are a bit tight for RV with trailer (65 feet)
Fair price / close to but far enough from freeway / real bumpy gravel road getting to camp ground (1/4 mi)

More like an RV park with lots of Mosquitos

Stayed 2015-07-20 to 2015-07-21
Not a typical KOA. Disappointed. Charge high for kids. My sewer was almost high as RV
sewer outlet. Had to manually drain. Mosquitoes galore. Kids couldn't play. Next to swampland. There are lots of full time residents. More like an rv park than KOA. Dog walk area is littered with cars etc. obviously a storage area for the "residents". Couldn't wait to leave. Oh forgot. The giant cooler in office wasn't working. They had a house refrigerator instead so little choices. Not a recent issue since parts of refrig marked private.

Before I get in the negatives let's start with the positives. The staff is great. Very friendly, curtious and they work their butts off trying to keep this place up. The bathrooms, pool, office, kids playground area and outdoor camper kitchen space are really nice and kept up. I should be able to end there, but let's look at the negatives.
The smell of cows is almost unbearable at times being so close to the cattle yards. With the cows comes the flies. Not your ordinary flies though. These seem to bite and they are big and plentiful. If that doesn't ruin your camping experience the amount of full-timers will do it. There is a lot of them here and I felt like I was invading the space. They get up early so you hear the diesels and it seems that each full-timer has two vehicles next to there run down trailer. Then there is the amount of trailers that are stored on the property. Some of them should be condemned. The negatives really ruin the entire camping experience. I don't like to go camping and be in the minority with people living in the campground. It's steering to get to be too much..

OK in a pinch

We were there one night only. The staff was friendly and guided us to our site. The laundry and bath house was nice and clean. Our site, on the other hand, was somewhat less than perfect. When I started hookups I noticed raw sewage around the drain and it was still wet. It quickly became apparent why that was. The drain was smaller than any I have ever seen. Mfy drain barely fit in the pipe but had no way of securing it. Had I tried dumping my tanks without holding the line down, I would have had the same results. There was a lot of mud around the sites. Some complained of the smell from the cattle field nearby but for us it was the sewage smell from our site. Cable was available but very poor. Wifi was no better than dial up of years gone by. Most sights were occupied by full timers and workers in the area. Most of the rigs were old, run down, and didn't look moveable without a tow truck. The night was quiet until early morning when the workers were starting to go out for the day but that didn't bother us as we were leaving anyway. This is not what I expected from KOA. If you need a quick overnight sleep, ok but be ready to move on.

Mosquitos

Pros: clean, people are friendly, horse farm in the back, nice playground
Cons: Mosquitos and flies are out of control, impossible to relax, there is a pool here but it is not very clean or big, and the mosquitos around the pool are even worse
