Reviews for Fort Stockton RV Park

| Good stay with great food

By user-5861197... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-01-07 to 2017-01-08

Off the highway in the middle of nowhere but used by a lot of folks transiting Texas. Everything well maintained. Good showers and restrooms. FHU, pull throughs. A big plus: the Roadrunner Cafe on site for breakfast and supper: filling southern cooking: ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes. Reasonably priced.

| NICE PARK

By user-4793745... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-01-31 to 2016-02-02

Stayed for two days. Manager was nice. The sites were gravel and fairly level. Good cable and wifi. Restroom were old but clean. Gravel lane into the park so dust is a big problem but, then again, it is west Texas. Stayed here in a 36' fifth wheel $33.75 per night..would stay again if in area.

| Great place, short stay

By user-5278659... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-12-10 to 2016-12-11

Overnight stay, early departure. Called ahead and received a friendly confirmation. Wish we could have tried the BBQ! Sites are clean and easy to park in. Gravel. Nice staff. Clean bathrooms and showers. Women's shower room is being repaired as of 12/2016, but they have a nice little shower bldg set up. Clean and lit 100x100 foot dog run. Lots of nice amenities. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

| First time here

By user-4724108... on 2017-10-23.

Very pleased. 28 dollars with good sam discount. We stayed in a 30 foot travel trailer. Did not have to unhook. Had trouble with the electric. Called the office someone came out immediately. Free cable and free WiFi Would stay here again

| Our first visit.

Nice, quaint park for an overnight stay. Had a great home cooked meal of mesquite smoked country style ribs at the Roadrunner Cafe on site. Would definitely return.

| What a great find!

By user-6103408... on 2017-10-23.

This place is a gem! We stopped for the night after a really long day. We were escorted in to our pull thru, by a super nice guy. We ate at the cafe in the Campground. Great home cooking. They were so busy and only one waitress, but she handled it like a pro. It has cable, nice private bathrooms and showers, level sites. Free WiFi that's working great. Although it's busy here it's quiet. Each site is big and comfortable. A nice fenced in dog park. Big enough to play fetch. I'm a fan. We travel this Rte once a year, and we will stop every time. They accept good Sam and with that discount it was 31.50. Also a pool and play grounds. A not too long walking trail to stretch your legs.

I was given a gravel pull-thru FHU for my 42' 5th wheel (4). Plenty of room for me to stay hooked to the truck. Great cable & wi-fi. They have a restaurant that serves dinner and breakfast. The park looks taken care off. I would stay here again.

By user-6726810... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2014-04-14 to 2014-04-15

Ok for a stay over, we stayed one nite while traveling through the Texas area along I-10. Not much out in the area. Camp was gravel and stone, which is the norm out there. Check in staff was friendly. Parked worked for a one nite stay. Plenty of room, easy to get in and out. Internet was so,so.

| Marginal Hot Weather Park

By user-6417868... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-05-11 to 2016-05-11

Could be a nice park, but when the temp hits 90+, the owner needs to get out and tell folks to turn off the AC! The park electric is at 103 - 109 volts, and when it drops below that, my Progressive shuts off the power! Not good!

By user-5770797... on 2017-10-23.

This a very friendly, quiet and clean stop for us. The office makes you feel welcomed and its easy in and out. Also their café has great homemade food, not the package stuff.

| Very nice!

By user-6046717... on 2017-10-23.

Nice people, quiet, good home made food and an enclosed dog park, we were all happy for our one night stay!

| Not Bad for an Overnight Stay

By user-5775851... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2014-09-05 to 2014-09-06

This park has changed hands. It is mostly dirt and wind but is ok for overnight stay. Most sites are 30/50amp, but some sites are 30 amp only. Sites vary in length so big rigs will have to be sure to get a long site if you do not plan to unhook the toad. Roadrunner Cafe is part of the park and limited offerings are quite good if you choose to not eat in. No beer or wine sales even though the flyer says they offer it.

| Great for stopovers

By user-4709276... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-04-29 to 2017-04-30

Stayed one night, staff was great, sites were good for a stopover. The restaurant was very good waitress and cook were very good as was the food, the best chicken fried steak I have have had in a long time.

Great second visit very friendly, Great Cafe home cooking

| Pretty Basic

By user-5531137... on 2017-10-23.

Sites look flat, but are uneven, so leveling a motor home may require some jockeying to keep your wheels on the ground. Plenty of trees to block the satellite signal. Nothing special, but easily accessed and clean. Good enough for overnight.

| Overnight stay

By user-5893513... on 2017-10-23.

Large park, nice facilities. Restaurant was good, showers clean. Some highway noise but tolerable. WiFi worked fine. The best place near Ft. Stockton.

| Lots of breezes!

By user-6463068... on 2017-10-23.

Enjoyed the one night, and would return. Hospitable staff and very *Texan*.

| Nice place

By user-6495712... on 2017-10-23.

Easy check in, friendly staff, park is well maintained, spacious sites. Did not use their showers. Pool was heated. On site is a cafe that served breakfast and dinner and the food was good. I'd come back again, no problem.

| Friendly, Folksy and Very Quirky!

By user-6371721... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-01-29 to 2016-01-30

Yes, as others have noted, the sites - not all that level, but that's what levelers are for. Other than that annoyance (and we've been on concrete pads that weren't level, so to expect gravel to be . . .?), we found the park to be great for one night. My husband said he might've stayed one more night, had we the time. If for no other reason than to enjoy eating at the Roadrunner Cafe for breakfast or dinner. Although it's a limited menu, by all reports, the food is good for the money. Check-in was easy and the pull-through easy. More grass (we're almost in Hill Country) and even a nice, grassy doggie park that my pup enjoyed. Everyone we met was nice (usually the case with fellow RVers) and the kitschy nature of the park was more fun than I expected. There are a litter of young cats living on the premises (I suspect they were littermates because they wrestled and played like they were - I could be wrong.) The cats were extremely friendly and one in particular let me take his picture. Everyone else were enchanted by them, too. The cable was good, with a large number of channels available, but the wi-fi was spotty (which is the usual, unfortunately.) Right off the interstate, it's east of Fort Stockton which worked for us as we are going cross-country. We would stay again for a short stay and have some chicken fried steak in the Roadrunner.

| What a great place- our 1st time.

By user-6455207... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-02-18 to 2017-02-19

Very friendly spot. Be sure to go early for dinner or you will miss out on the nightly special. Fills up each evening. Friendly staff and reasonable price. We lucked our as a young Girl Scout came through the park selling cookies. Spots a good sized but not lush. We stayed in a with tow dolly. We had plenty of room. Definitely will stay again.

| Wonderful experience during horrible storm

By user-5960402... on 2017-10-23.

During a horrible ice storm in late Feb. 2015, this RV park was a true oasis. Nice people and cute cafe with down home Texas food. The dog run is exceptional. These folks gave haven to many during horrible driving conditions. I would recommend them in good or bad times for a taste of Southern charm and cooking. I can't thank them enough!

| Fabulous park

By user-5289654... on 2017-10-23.

We were only here for one night. Very nice park with mostly pull thru spots that are very big rig friendly. All spots had picnic table & grass. Excellent restaurant on site. Super showers. Each shower was their own bathroom with a locking door. Very friendly & efficient staff

| Good overnight campground

By user-5747450... on 2017-10-23.

All pull thru fhu sites on gravel. Good Sam discount and very friendly owners. Will stay here again in our 40' motorhome with toad remaining connected.

| Great campground for big rig rvs

By user-5842326... on 2017-10-23.

We came in late at night and paperwork was all in order. the sites were large, accommodated a 40 foot RV plus a tow. the campground itself was very clean and nicely manicured. Great pool and friendly staff. Will definitely go back.

| Great stay!

By user-5874918... on 2017-10-23.

We stayed last month & going to stay again tonight. Wonderful staff, the restaurant was very good (sorry they are closed on Sun, but nice for staff), nice dog park. Spaces are pull-thru with grass & nice space between units.

| Good overnight site

By user-5898887... on 2017-10-23.

We were quite satisfied with our overnight stay. The staff was very friendly. Getting into our pull-through site with a 39' 5er was pretty easy, although the site was somewhat shorter than hoped. The site was wide enough to park our tow vehicle and our car. The cafe was closed but they brought in complimentary pizza which was a very nice move. The RV park is on the west side of Fort Stockton but only a few minutes from WalMart and fuel.

| Our third time here

By user-6065427... on 2017-10-23.

This used to be a KOA. It works great for an overnight stay. The little restaurant serves good diner food. Ownership of the park changed hands recently and improvements seem to be in progress. There is a nice, heated pool, large laundry, and a spacious, grassed, fenced dog area. It is quiet, safe, and easily accessed. Interior roads/turns can be a little tight, so, pay attention. We stayed here in a 41' DP, pulling a Jeep Cherokee.

| Away from the railroad

By user-5303536... on 2017-10-23.

Stayed here overnight traveling from Tucson to Houston. Crowded with oil field workers I believe. A little pricey for what it was but there's not a lot to pick from and they know it all in all I'd stay again.

It doesn't look like the pictures at all in the winter. Clean and friendly for an overnight.

| Convenient Overnight Spot

By user-4558675... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-04-10 to 2017-04-11

Overnight stay in a motorhome as this park is a conveniently timed stopover between San Antonio and our final destination. Park is easily accessed off the hwy and not far from Fort Stockton if supplies needed. Roads are gravel, as are the sites. Easy to pull in and out for the pull-thru sites, or those that have to be backed into. Hook ups all worked without issue. Would stay again if passing through. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

| Great Campground for a overnight stop.

By user-6667092... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2017-03-26 to 2017-03-27

Very nice stop over Campground. All the sites seem to be pull thru. The sites are level, good water pressure, good power and a large amount of cable channels. The kids loved the pool though the playground is very small home use swing set. The views were very beautiful. I would recommend a reservation since we pulled up in March and there were only a couple spots left at 2pm. It seems to be a popular stopping point due to the distance from Las Cruces and San Antonio, plus for the price you can't go wrong.

By user-5862460... on 2017-10-23.

Very nice RV park level sites p/t staff were very nice & friendly & helpful. They have a Roadrunner Cafe with the best home cooking food ever. The biscuits were like my grandmother made The chicken fried steak & shrimp were very very good. We left before we could try the breakfast but I bet it was just as good . The park fee w/good Sam was $33.75. We would go back.

| 5th wheel retirees

By user-5828388... on 2018-03-14.

Very nice park, very nice staff. The site was very uneven gravel no picnic table, has a resteraunt (cafe), which was very nice to not have to cook and wash dishes after traveling all day.

| Nice park

Second time here. Easy access, nice staff, sites are gravel and a little uneven, but we got pretty level. Little cafe with good food. Great cable, WiFi, and water pressure. GET RESERVATIONS. We pulled in on a Saturday around 2:00, and by 5:30 it was full with a long waiting list. We are pulling a 32 foot fifth wheel, and sites are large pull throughs with plenty of room.

| Perfect for an overnight

By user-4951653... on 2018-03-14. Stayed 2018-01-28 to 2018-01-29

Large pull thrus and a restaurant on site make this place to stop and rest overnight. Sites are gravel but level. It's close to the interstate so you can hear traffic all night, but for an overnight, the place is fine.

| Nice for a night

We drove in off the highway and were pleased to be accommodated last minute! Staff was wonderful. Helpful and the little restaurant was an added bonus. Recommend for an overnight. There is a pool but it was too chilly to try it We would go back

Ft. Stockton is a quick stop on this trip, but this place is a real jewel. About 106 degrees when we pulled in a 2 pm, whew, Our check in was so easy, our spot is great, everything is clean and quiet. The pool was a delightful respite from the heat while our camper cooled off. They have their own restaurant and what a great little place that is. The food was really good, and we were wonderfully surprised by the value and the service! We’re going back for breakfast,

| Quick & clean

By user-4548370... on 2018-07-06.

The sites are rather close together, but the staff is friendly, the place is neat, and late check in was convenient.

| Nice park. Great for a one night stopover.

By user-5326444... on 2018-07-06. Stayed 2018-06-05 to 2018-06-06

Assuming this once was a KOA..not sure what gave it away, the fact that it's on KOA Rd, or that there office is a typical KOA "A" frame building. Nice staff. Clean park. Plenty of room. Nice looking pool, although we didn't use it. Would stay here again.

Nice size sites, friendly staff, large dog park. Easy in and out. Didn't use facilities

| Exactly how advertised!

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

This is a great stop off of I-10 -4 miles from Fort Stockton. Sites are easy in - easy out. Check is was great and the people in the office were super nice! We did not try the cafe- but a nice perk! It is right off of I-10 but did not notice any hey noise. Good WiFi and also has cable. There is plenty of room between sites. In all it was exactly as advertised- bonus there is a Walmart in Fort Stockton had the best diesel prices in the area - easy in and out.

Nice stopover. Level gravel sites and great cable. Had dinner at their Roadrunner cafe. Great food and Bluebell ice cream with your meal. Well worth your stop! Easy off/on.

| Convenient, But ...

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-02-14 to 2019-02-16

Convenient to I-10 about 4 miles east of Fort Stockton. Pretty basic. Sites are mostly level, but how do you screw up basically flat ground. Sewer connections in awkward location. Wifi is basically useless since park has expanded to service oil patch workers since our last stay. On site cafe but we did not try it. Cable TV but we did use it.

| Great place to stay the night.

By user-4721718... on 2019-08-09.

The wife and I stayed the night here on our way to El Paso, the park is not much to look at and there is nothing around for 5 miles BUT it's right off the Interstate 10, the people who work there are really nice. they have a small restaurant, it's nothing fancy but for the price the food is good and it's worth not having to drive into town.

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09. Stayed 2019-03-13 to 2019-03-14

Had full hookup with cable and good wifi. Has nice clean pool but too cold to use. Restaurant had fresh hot meals and Blue Bonnet ice cream came with meal. Nice showers and laundry. Only thing would make it ideal would be paved pads and bench in shower. Would stay here again.

By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.

Reviews are right. Not much to look at, but a good stop between El Paso and San Antonio. Pool was clean, cold, yet my grandson still swam. Paid $38. Having the restaurant right there was a plus. Good service, and food.

By user-4662123... on 2019-08-09.

Great place to stop, easy on and off I-10. Nice park with good Wifi and a lovely dog park. The traffic noise is not excessive, folks are friendly, nice pool. Will stay here again.
