| Great and popular facility

Located just north of Port Townsend, meaning less than a mile drive to shopping and the cities multiple opportunities for entertainment, Fort Worden is a great facility. The older RV section is good with mostly level sites most are surrounded by trees. The bathroom in this area is basic. Sadly now getting a bit of graffiti that has not been cleaned. New RV section by Point Wilson has new wonderful bathrooms. This area has large open sites. Few trees. There are no water views throughout the RV camping areas as everything is set back from the water or is blocked by sand dunes or trees. location was used to film 'Officer and a gentleman'. Wonderful trails and old fortifications. You can spend days here checking everything out, and then going into the city of Port Townsend for another great adventure. Exceedingly popular State Park. Reservations are required during the peak summer spring and fall seasons. Some walk-ups may be available; but only if someone cancels at the last minute. You must make a reservation or feel lucky.

Wonderful waterfront, lighthouse and historical military base. Plenty of hiking trails. Easy launch facilities for kayaks. Full hookups available. Clean showers and restrooms. Multiple restaurants in the park. I recommend Taps for small bites and beer.
