This is a military campground. The views cannot be beat! I can't overstate that. That is what makes this campground great and allowed me to look over the flaws. I stayed at site 8 which is on the cliff, overlooking the beach. It was very challenging to get in, even with a 29' trailer, as the road and sites are both very narrow. The site was extremely unlevel, front to back. I had to get pretty creative just to get disconnected, let alone get the trailer level. The bath house was clean enough and had good pressure in the shower, but it was a little cold. There didn't seem to be any heat in the building. The biggest negative to me was the lack of security. Being a military campground, you expect a certain level of security, but it is non-existent here. The campground is over an hour from the base that operates it and it is wide open to the locals. There is a gate at the front, but it is unmanned and unlocked. They should at least put a lock on the gate and give the code to patrons when they check in. There were locals coming in at all hours of the day to fish, walk the beach, or watch the sunset and they would park right in front of our site. Despite the negatives, I would definitely stay here again, just for the scenery.
You pay for the view. A great location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
