I would go back. Too bad there is a drought and the river is so low.
This park is a tradition for our family. We have been coming here at Spring Break for several years now. The sites are large and the activities are a lot of fun. Strongly recommended it.
We live about 3 hours away, so this is a nice place to get away to. Nice scenery, lots to do at different times of the year, and if course the Frio River. We try to float it every year.
Bathrooms cleaner than most state parks. River very nice and peaceful. Checkin person was nice. Very good amazingly well stocked store. Campsite could have been a little nicer but consistent with most state parks. Don't forget to get your park pass if your going to be in Texas for very long. Its a real money saver.
The river is the big draw and in the summer I guess it was packed. We had no trouble getting a spot. Level, clean showers, and out time at the river was great. No version service but a nice place to stay.
When camping would campers start posting picture of campground map so fellow campers can see area. Thank you! Fellow camper
