Nice enough park, lots of water access, great sites on the water — but gnats, gnats, this is south Georgia. Made it hard for us to enjoy.
Nice park. A lot to do. Nice swimming area and fishing was decent. Downside is that they do not take reservations. So first come first serve. A lot of campers would go early, tag their spot, and leave. If you go, go early in week.
We love camping at Veterans! The kids love riding their bikes around the loops and to the play ground area!! The only thing that would make this better would be a splash pad in the park! It get so hot!!
The price of the park has gone up to $43 (less our senIor citizen discount of $11). Pretty park on the water. Very clean.
Nice big sites. Decent Bathrooms. We enjoyed the museum and swimming area. We had our bikes so we could get out and enjoy all parts
I am a traveling camp host and love tjis HUGE, park. There is so much to do or not do and just enjoy the quiet lakeside. Bathhouses are clean, grounds are very well manacured, and staff is bery helpful and happy. Summer time bring bug juice, your in the "Gnat zone", but aside from that you have cable, wifi, marina, resturant and marina grill. And a plug for Striplins Store outside the main gate with awsome grilling meats. Next to them is Dollar General with dry goods and drinks. Have fun.....
