host camper rude, acts like he owns the campground, Grass not mowed.
While exclusively camping at full service, private campgrounds until now, we decided to give this campground a shot. The campsite patio side was all but lakeside, could hardly hear or see any neighbors, there was plenty of shade, the parking was paved and the showers were close and clean. We will definitely return here. The cost was $71 for 3 nites with senior discount, about 65% of the prevailing private campground rate.
We found this to be an excellent state park. The rangers and camp hosts were very accommodating when we wanted to change site locations (our original site was rather waterlogged after the wettest summer in history for PA). The camp hosts delivered our wood to the site for us, too. The showers are not luxurious, but at least you can regulate the temperature, and you don't have to walk too far to get to one. Great for boaters with the big lake, and the beach in season seems to be a hit. Many hiking paths, though they too were a little too wet after this summer of record setting rain. We will definitely be coming back here!
