| Lakeside campground

Wanapum Washington state park just south of vantage Nice lakeside spot All Rv sites but tents welcome We paid $35. Nice clean restroom though you have to pay for showers. Lovely sunrise over lake. We came in from the east and this was the first really nice spot after Spokane area.

| On the Columbia

Sites are nicely spaced, most with some shade. The campground is not too far away from the interstate with little traffic noise in the distance. Plenty of walking available around the campground and picnic area. No WiFi or TV connections, but it is a great spot to enjoy watching the Columbia River flow by or enjoy a full moon rising in the east.

| Too windy!

We overnighted here 2 times in 2 weeks leaving and returning from a road trip. We were surprised on how attractive this small park is. Fabulous views of the Columbia river from the premium sites, nice green grass areas and some very nice private non-premium sites. Pull throughs and back in sites with full hook-ups. One really big negative was the very strong wind that started in the early evening and lasted until sun up. We experienced this wind both nights here making sleeping difficult at best and it wasn't just wind noise it was rocking our 30 foot, 6,000 pound trailer so violently it felt as if we were on a boat. Our first day there the men's room urinal was out of service, nearly 2 weeks later it was still out of service but was so foul smelling it was nauseating, the other men's room was fine. I don't think I'd overnight here again strictly due to the wind issue.

| Very nice state park

Very pretty little park, all the sites are level and lots of space between sites. We did have major wind the first day and a half but after that it was very enjoyable. Right on the Columbia plus there is day use and a launch ramp. We stayed here while attending two nights of concerts at The Gorge Amphitheater and didn t think it was too far away from there. Campground was very quiet, only gave four stars because of the possibility of big wind since you are in the Columbia River Gorge but otherwise all over a very pretty campground. It easily accommodates big rigs. We stayed in a 34 ft MH with Jeep. The pull through spots on the river are very nice.

| Clean, neat, great views

I spent one night here on my way to Walla Walla. It was easy to find/good direction signs. The sites are spacious with many directly facing the water and many pull through with some shade. It was very windy, but no complaints

| The WIND!

As you have probably read from other reviews, the wind here is exceptional. It is like camping inside a tornado! I would not recommend tenting.... but in an RV it is kind of fun. Like being in a ship! Or flying on a Sky Bison! The campground is a mini green oasis next to the massive Columbia River. Lots of shady pull through sites. Water, electric, and sewer at every site. You need a Discovery Pass to stay here. There is no attendant on duty (there is a camp host available). Drive in, pick your site and then pay for it by the restrooms. Be sure to have EXACT DOLLAR BILLS for the envelope. Shower is $1.00 for 3 minutes. You have to use a token to shower. The token machine does not take quarters. So bring a few dollar bills to clean your body! Water is super hot and pressure is great. Men's bathroom has been out-of-order since May (it is now July). Urine is spilling out of the urinals and the smell is horrific. Verizon is one bar of 4g but a very very slow 4g, more like 2g. You will not be able to upload or stream or if you are like me, you will not be able to work. But it is still a lovely campground. Enjoy!!

| Exta car is $10 a day

And a note: If you drive your RV and you have a second car that is not being towed, it is an extra $10 a day. I explained to the camp host that our car cannot be physically towed so it has to be driven and they still made us pay. Not cool.
