| Not for one night stopovers

By user-5831330... on 2017-10-23. Stayed 2016-07-04 to 2016-07-05

We stayed one night. Sites were sand/dirt with no grass. Sites were private. We did not like that hiking trails were too far away from campsite to walk to. None of them were nearby the campgrounds. $44 for one night with electric and water seemed excessive. $11 was for the permit and $33 for the site. Lots and lots of traffic for a Monday night. I don't think we'd go back.

| Tons of campgrounds here!

Never seen so many loops for group sites. Obviously popular. We liked this campground! Our site (something in the 300s) was wooded with electric (no water at sites). it had low overhanging trees but maintenance hurried over to cut them back - Great guy! The park is huge with varied terrain and different areas. Waterfall was small. Didn t do any other trails due to bad knee but explored all over the park. Park in need of some upgrading and maintenance. We took a glorious WI mountain drive up to WI Dells - worth the drive. Very old carnival-like tourist area but the boat ride to see unique rock formations was great! Area Has been preserved - frozen in time. Looked the same as when brother 65 went as a 12-yr. old. Pretty pretty area. Also a stop at Frank Lloyd Wright s historic NW Home.
