The RV and cabins are located behind store and restaurant the RV sites are gravel with S/W/E no cable. The cabins are rustic and if you are familiar with hunting cabins you can see the outside through the cracks in the wood. I stayed in one it was comfortable and clean, just bring an extra blanket if you don't have sleeping bags. The views are amazing and the stars abound. It was a great campsite. If it is raining and the sand is wet, they will not rent the boards for the sand dunes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were well kept and clean and there is a laundry facility on site.
Pros: close to dunes and national park entrance, pull through level RV sites with convenient hookups, good bathrooms, great views, fun activities, camp/souvenir store and restaurant less than a block from campground. RVs were far from tenters (who tend to be pretty loud and rowdy) Cons: gravel roads and sites, sites are full sun (but climate is cooler here) and close, a bit pricey. We had a great time here. We liked being able to walk to the souvenir shop, where you can rent boards (about$20) to sled down the enormous sand dunes. Where else can you go sledding in June?? The bath house had a wrap around covered porch with benches where you could sit and enjoy the great views. It was really beautiful and unexpected. They also had a fun "all you can eat" ice cream night that my nephews enjoyed. Nice people running the place, even though it was super busy. My tip is to go early to enjoy the dunes, the sand heats up by 11.
Very nice to have full hookups this close to the park. They have 20 sites. The lower your site number the better your view of the sand dunes and mountains.
