This woman was anything but friendly on the phone and I should have listened my instincts, because she was even more rude and unfriendly in person. We went to the other RV campground in Dodge and it was nearly full so we decided to go by Gunsmoke, which was nearly empty (2 RV's in the whole place.) The woman must have been having another of apparently many bad days. I have stayed in many campgrounds over the years and have never dealt with a more rude, hateful person. I read her rebuttals to other reviews where she quotes scriptures from the Bible, but the spirit of Christ does not appear to live within her. If she believes herself to be a Christian, she needs to give long and deep introspection. She gives Christians, my fellow Kansans and the human race a bad name. We left Dodge City without spending another dime or minute and I recommend you do the same. If you need to spend the night in Dodge, this should be your last choice.
Will stay here again. Sites, restrooms and showers are clean. Also like the idea that after 10pm the gates are closed and you need a code to get in. Pool area looked good.
You won't be sorry if you decide to stay here! Nice and friendly personnel, clean and well kept place. Lots of trees to give shade. Large well-organized spaces.
Come visit Gunsmoke Trav-L-Park and see what "Pride In Ownership" has to show for itself! Gunsmoke Trav-L-Park is located 1 mile west of Dodge City at the intersection of US Hwy 50 and Bus. US 50 on the north side of the road. While you're here, explore the history and unique areas of Dodge City's "Old CowTown" in Southwest Kansas, 150 miles west of Wichita.
