Nice park that is pretty much typical of campgrounds in this part of the country. Nice pool and friendly staff. Very little shade but level gravel sites. Easy on and off from I-90. Probably best park in Hardin..
After arriving at nightfall, a water heater hose burst. My water system was completely immobilized. I was not towing and the road was impassable for a bike because of construction. When I asked for assistance from the owners, all I received was a blank stare, like, "Oh well...not our problem." The next morning I drove myself and my 43' to the hardware store, returned, reset camp, and fixed the hose. The owner asked me if I fixed the problem. (Yes, no thanks to you). The ONLY reason that I returned to complete my stay is because I prepaid the $80 for two nights and it was the weekend. This CG is isolated by surrounding crops and farm factories with no trails or places to walk outside of the CG. There is little to no grass where advertised (outside your door), the dog runs are overrun by indigenous bushes, and the utilities are old and do not function properly.
Definitely a better value than the KOA in Billings but severely in need of grounds maintenance! Weeds growing several inches high in most campsites, under tables, shelters, looks very unkept. Utilities were old but worked great. The staff was pleasant and accommodating when I called to make a reservation and upon checkin. Quiet, very little train or freeway noise, a mile out in the country from Hardin.
I'm glad I stopped here for the night. I might make it two. It's early June and the mornings and late afternoon weather is perfect and heaven with the constant slow wind. I love the swing, chairs, table and lounge chairs at the front of the office, these make you feel welcome. I slipped into the bathrooms and I can't wait to use them tomorrow morning. When you're on a long trip and need a rest, this is the place.
Super nice couple. We were there the day before they closed. Clean bathrooms.
Nice and clean easy in and out. Pool was great, would definitely stay again!
Far enough from the freeway to get a great night's rest. Friendly staff and excellent facilities.
This is a nice place to stay for one night. The owners are so nice and so helpful. They are 14 miles from Little Big Horn Battlefield. Level, gravel sites. Sites are somewhat close together. Has cable but only 10 channels. WiFi is slow. We camped in a Motor home, and we would stay again.
A decent facility that is starting to show it's age. Arrived mid-evening after the office had closed and retrieved my check in packet (I had reserved and pre-paid) and the host / manager still came out from his residence to greet and orient us. Needed to do laundry and he came by later to make sure we had coins and anything else we needed and let us finish our laundry although it was technically past closing for the laundry facility. I would stay here again if I pass that way.
Sites are ample sized and level. You'll have room to spread out and get comfortable. Amenities are good and clean. They keep the sites mowed and clean. Weeds pop up here and there but they get'm. We'd (no pun intended) stay here again.
Very nice park. The staff was the friendliest I have encountered. Sites were nice and level with trees. Clean laundry facilities. Great little camp store too. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is there was someone camping working on a road crew who had pulled in work truck causing a very strong odor of tar.
We stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. Gina and Dave (owners) are GREAT. They both work so hard and it shows. I wish all people were as nice as them. The campground has just opened for the season but is coming in to shape. Enjoyed going to Yellowtail Dam and Little Bighorn National Cemetery. They are a must if you are in this part of the country. All and all it was a nice area to sit back and relax...
Mostly grass pads. Somewhat level, staff was nice. Very dated KOA, facilities need some work.
Sites so close together it’s ridiculous. Went to go shower at 10:45 am and it’s being cleaned, when the sign says cleaning from 11-1, rude girls said they got started early. That’s not my problem, checkout is 11 you don’t clean showers when people expect to be able to use them. That’s what we are paying for.
Older facility but we'll kept. Nice location about a mile from interstate and town. Very helpful folks running it. Staff was great too. Reasonable rates. Will stay again.
Older KOA with lots of deferred maintenance needed at end of season. More of a $25 space than a $45 (w/ tax) -- to cover the water & electric. The brochure asked campers to leave it better than we found it -- sorry, we didn't have the time or inclination to clean up the cigarette butts left by previous campers.
Campsite has seen better days. It was very cold when we stayed there but the washrooms weren t heated so unable to use the showers. The decorated old bikes around the perimeter are very cool.
Yes, the park needs some upkeep and is on the older side. I would stop again, the staff and friendly and helpful. I believe they want you there.
One of the reasons I look forward to staying at a KOA is reliable WiFi. I have a hotspot on my phone and I have a separate Jetpak, but the "unlimited" data plan I have cuts the speed after so many gigabytes. So, when I roll into a KOA, I breath a sigh of relief. Except the Hardin KOA. After we were parked, we were told to bring our "devises" to the office to get on the wifi and we should be OK back at the camp. What? Farther than I'm able to walk carrying my "devices," and I requested a pull through for a reason. I did not want to have to unhook! I can get the signal, but the password they gave me doesn't work, so I'm assuming I'm too far away? I don't know, but I'll just conclude by saying I was very disappointed. When I'm traveling, it is important to me to be able to stay in touch!
Staff excellent amenities are ok would stay again if passing through level sites
