The place looks run down and abandoned. Roads are in poor condition and campsites were hard to locate with all the leaves everywhere. It was even hard to stay on the roads because of the leaves. Even though it's near a river you wouldn't know it from the campground. You're just back in the woods with no trails to walk and nothing to do. I'd rather be home.

Very nice setting along the Duck River but the grounds are in poor condition. Many sites have non-working hookups.

Wonderful campground completely re-done hardly a bad spot in the campground! Only 2 things to note, no tv signal, too far from Nashville, but hey, that's camping right. Also removed one star for bad design on dump station, I have to straddle to dump with my rv 37 foot very hard to get in and out. The campground host, we'll what can I say, they are great.

Nice park however, the entrance road is narrow and needs repaved. All of the sites are recently paved and widened with water and 50 amp service. Newly undated wifi throughout the park but not on line just yet. Lots of shade, clean restrooms. Stayed here in a 36' fifthwheel and would return if in the area.

Now that the campground has been upgraded, with new sites, landscaping, bathrooms, and repaired this is a nice campground. However for larger rigs the dump station needs improving! You either have to straddle or pull into the trees to line up! This could be easily improved by cutting down the trees and repaving so you could pull straight through.

Great campground but...

This campground was renovated about 4-5 years ago. This has been our go-to campground for about 3 years now. We’ve camped in every season. The streets, once in the camping area, are paved and in great shape as are the camping spaces. The spaces are mostly level but you’ll have to tweak your RV. There are a lot of trees so satellite TV may be limited. Electric and water are great with no problems from either. Another reviewer mentioned the entrance road and his comments were spot on. The road is narrow and does need to be repaved. The bath house is excellent. There are some trails that total maybe 6 miles total. The park has a large swimming pool and a restaurant that was remodeled in the early spring of 2017 and has a small bar. Seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. If you play golf the course is long and open. The is also a shooting range. OTA TV is limited due to the Park’s location and the campground being sort of in a hole. WIFI is available however around some sites it doesn’t work. They have know about the issue for a couple of years now. Other than these minor issues its a great place to get away.

At the campground at this time. This is our go-to place being about 37 miles from home. WiFi was redone this year so all sites have good coverage. The entrance street is narrow and the area in front of the campground office needs repaving or more gravel and grading. I also agree that the dump station is awkward. Fist there are two trash dumpsters that keep you from swinging out to easily enter the dump stating straight on. Once in the dump station there used to be a large tree that had to be avoided to exit the dump station and turn right to exit the campground. The tree was cut down last year; however the stump is still there making a hard right turn to exit the campground harder that necessary. The camping spaces are easy to get into. They are generally wide and fairly level but most will require a bit of leveling during setup. So far the 6” on one side was the most we’ve had to use.
Electric and water are great with no issues. Bath houses are clean and warm in the winter. As with the typical TN state park there are a lot of trees so satellite reception is limited as was noted in another review.
The campground hosts are great and very helpful but not excessive. Park rangers live in the park and I’ve never experienced or heard of problems.
There are three or four trails, some marked better than others and they range from easy to moderate. Numerous deer to watch in the morning and late afternoon.

When a campground is near full at the start of a winter weekend, it's popular. Loads of shade and mature trees, though sites are close.
There is a skeet range/ gun range downwind of the camp, which is only slightly annoying, but if gunfire freaks you out, don't come.
Nice wooded hiking trails with loads of birds.
Clean campgrounds with excellent camp hosts.

Great campground with lots of activities that the kids enjoy. Staff is really involved in doing fun things with the kid's, hikes, hayrides, and crafts. Lots of shade. During the summer you can rent floats for about $5 a person. You start up river and float to the campground. Shuttle provided and can float as many times as you want.
