| Fun Weekend
We have never stayed at a KOA before and decided to stay here because it seemed like there was a lot for the kids in our group to do. We had a pull thru site which, in our opinion, were the best sites because they were the largest. (The river sites seemed small. The campers were packed in tight!) We stayed across from the playground/pool area. The kids loved it because the camper was close and we adults could just peek over to check on them. The pool area was nice. The furniture was in good condition. The campground was clean except for a lot of goose droppings, but that is something that can't be helped. The bath house at the pool was very clean. There were other bath houses but we didn't use them so I honestly can't comment on them. It was a very quiet campground. We dug for diamonds across the road at Herkimer Diamond Mines. It was within walking distance. Be prepared for a hard day's work. You may want to bring a chisel and maybe your own 3-5 pound sledgehammer. They provide hammers but they're not the best. Bring protective eyewear too. (I did find a diamond worth approx $65) We stayed two nights but wished we could stay another. There seems to be a lot to do in the area. We'll be back in 2015, for sure.
| Nice campground
Level gravel site on the river. Full hook-up. Staff was friendly and easy to find. WiFi was average but slowed down during the busy weekend. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Lots to do with the kids; kayaking/tubing down the river, diamond mining, park activities on the weekend, etc.

Came back because it was such a nice campground and there is a lot to do.
