This campground is 6 miles from Hershey Park and that's the best it has to offer. The bathrooms are dirty and in major need of repair. There are holes in the walls with spider nests inside. Lighting doesn't work. While the bathrooms are cleaned daily, they are just stained in filth. There's a large playground with old equipment. I was afraid to let my kids of the metal swing set. Afraid that it would fall apart and afraid that they would contract some disease. There's a large sandpit but not sure if that's a "playground feature" or storage of sand. There's suppose to be WiFi but I never could find it. The sites are all next to each other in a field. There's a tree or two but I wouldn't call them shaded sites. There are nice fire pits and a picnic table at each site. There's a pond where you can't fish or swim... Not sure the point. There were several cabins overlooking the pond. The price is $55/night but for the condition of the campground, I felt that price was too steep. Like I said, the proximity to Hershey Park was ideal and that is the only reason I'd stay there again. Hopefully they'll spruce the place up this winter. It surely needs it.
We made reservations 2 days before Labor Day. The facility was a bit rustic but a nice close spot if spending the day at Hershey. Paint was peeling on the pool and the concrete was a bit cracked but the kids couldn't care. Lawn was pretty well mowed. The spots I saw didn't have nice fire pits. The concrete was cracked and missing and it was behind our camper. Not all sites had sewer but there was a dump station. The store was one of the more expensive we had been to.
We stayed three nights in our MH. The sites are level grassy sites. Gravel road. Pretty pond with lots of Koi to watch. Staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to do and see. It is a basic campground with reasonable rates for being so close to Hershey.
