This is a very nice one night stop over, with easy in and out pull throughs. By the looks of it, it would be a great place to spend a week.
Sites are level and more than enough room. It's really a nice stop in a clean and comfortable park.
Just a quick late overnight stay. Seems like a quiet pretty stop. Owner wasnt too friendly as our kids played on the playground equipment.
We stayed for 3 nights and this campground is exceptionally clean and friendly. We were in C-5 pull through with a 32 ft. Class A and toad. Roomy spots, pool, laundry. Sad to say that the campground has been sold to US Silica and will not operate after this season.
Stayed in pull-thru site C-1 in a Motorhome with a toad. Full concrete pad...haven't had one of those for awhile..so leveling was a breeze! Large park, small trail system to enjoy. Fairly high noise level from I-80 with a South wind but manageable. We would be happy to stay here again!
We stayed here in a 38' motorhome for $37 per night. Lots of paper work to get in but staff was polite. Site was flat and hook-ups worked. Starving Rock Illinois State Park is 3 miles. Really great park with beautiful lodge. We had no idea it was there until we rode around. Utica is a small town with a cute main street and some of the best wings anywhere at Skoog's Pub & Grill. A must stop if in the area.
Not worth your time stopping. Lady that owns it thinks she owns you too. Expensive for what you get.
No complaints from this newbie to the RV life. Clean place, fun and helpful staff, and just a couple minutes from Starved Rock Park. I'm not sure if previous reviews were from a different management, but these ladies were fun to chat with and great hosts.
This is one of the better campgrounds we have stayed at. We stayed here for a week. Not sure what rater above is talking about, but the owners were nothing but nice to us!! This place is very clean and well kept. Highly recommended!!! Close to beautiful Starved Rock State Park.
Exceptional!!! Give it a look this place was wonderful.
Due to a last minute change in plans, was scrambling to find a campground close to I-80 for an overnight stop on our way home. Hickory Hollow turned out to be a very nice surprise. Large, level sites, clean park and very easy to maneuver even the largest RV's without any problems at all. Pool area looked very clean and inviting. Lots of trees throughout campground. And, very easy off/on to I-80 with a truck stop and restaurants right close by. After reading some of the reviews on here, I went there expecting the worst in customer service. Instead, to my surprise, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Maybe some of us are a little too sensitive? Would recommend this facility for anyone traveling in either direction on I-80.
Stayed here for one night while doing our summer vacation. Went to starved rock the next day for a couple of hours. Was very comfortable with letting the 5 and 7 yr old kids ride their bikes around. Very quiet but not busy for a Sunday night. Well lit but not very "forresty" in the pull thru sites. Would stay there again to go to the state parks.
If you want a great quiet and clean campground this is the place for you! The owners Sandy and Louise are the Best!!!
