| Nice state park

Stayed here while visiting friends in the area. The roads leading here from interstate are winding and hilly, but doable. Our back-in, 50 amp, FHU site was level with plenty of room to park the toad. We were able to get OTA channels and had good Verizon service. We did back up to Hwy 534, but there are trees to buffer. We don't sit outside, so noise was not a problem. When outside walking, didn't notice noise being a problem...it's not like it's an interstate. Site had partial shade. Some sites are very shaded, and some not at all...just depends. Lots of space to walk the dog. Based on reviews on another site, there is a pet loop, which is where we must've been. Didn't realize they had that, so make sure to indicate you have a pet. We would stay here again when in the area.

| A State Park with Lots of History

I have been camping a hickory for the past 23 years. They are always improving the campgrounds and trails. The Rangers are friendly and helpful. I got married up at the old church/school house. That the reception by the lake. All in its a great place for families that like peace and quiet.
