Reviews for Hoover RV Park

We were tired and needed a stop. This park was easy to get to and served the purpose. We were very comfortable here. Not a place to spend much time at but a great place to visit Birmingham.

We stay here often when traveling from Mississippi to Georgia. It's an asphalt area with full hookups and wifi. No cable tv, showers or laundry is available. The city of Hoover is developing the area, so the sites will be unavailable/closed from May 20, 2016 to June 1, 2017 (the sites are reserved for SEC games played at the stadium from 5/20-5/31/16).

Really! The earlier review can be misleading. It is not, and does not try to be a treed, scenic, destination RV park or resort. Thus, arguably should not be reviewed as such. It's RV parking which is primarily there for Hoover Met events. Thus, it is especially well suited for the larger motorhomes, 5ers, and TTs that do not need support beyond first class hookups. It is: clean, security patrolled, easy big rig access, big spaces that do not require towed unhooking, and paved for no dust, mud, or dirt. Hoover Met is a clear 10 for an overnight or short stay to visit Birmingham. As for price, it is a bargain for what you get. Of course, if one goes out to the boonies, cheaper places can be found. But, hey, after spending many many thousands for a RV, why complain about a few paltry incremental additional dollars to go first class for in close city RV parking?

Not very scenic and rather pricey but there aren’t a lot of options near Birmingham. This is a flat blacktop area by the high school sports complex. Probably would be great for tailgating but as far as attractive RV location, not really.

We arrived with no reservations. It s just a big parking lot. But sites have full hook ups. Each site with big 64 gallon trash cans. Next door is events center. Very cool. Indoor track for walking or running. Rock climbing wall ( extra fee, I think $12 ). Unfortunately closed for use due to a event happening. Restrooms also inside, vending machines. Also a outdoor trail that takes you to the Cohaba River. Walked dog perimeter of lot, just over a mile maybe. Lots of construction on one side where they are expanding an outdoor events fields. This place will be a gem once construction done. None of the construction noise bothered us since we parked far and opposite. I can see how some people would not rate this place well, because it is just a huge parking lot. But we are full timers in our 30 s, and really we are not picky. This place was clean and provided us with all we needed for the two nights.

Reviews below pretty accurate. One thing to note, we had site 13 which is right next to the complex building, our site was empty but sites 14 and 15 were full of cars of the people who worked in the building. If you can avoid sites 12-18 just in case.

It is what it is. It s an RV park to go watch games at the stadium. They have a splash pad that is free which means everyone and their cousin is there. The sites on the end are decent because there is a tree with grass there. So get one of those. Full hook ups.

This is not so much an RV Park as it is an RV parking lot. It s five? acres of asphalt with full hookups. If you re bringing the family for events at the event center, it s a great place to park, but otherwise I d drive on, and we did.
