Beautiful park nestled in the redwoods. Fire pits and picnic tables. Some sites are right on the gorgeous smith river. Pay showers. Bathrooms very clean. Bear country so food lock boxes at sites. Could not get a really big rig in here. Small market and cafe about a mile or so up the road and close to some groves of very large redwoods although there are some monsters right in the campground. $35/night no hook ups but water taps throughout the park and a dump station.

We stayed in this park years ago in a tent and it was wonderful. Coming back in a 31' trailer was a bit of a different experience. As one person noted, "this park was built before people had big Rvs." It took us some maneuvering just to drive around the road to get to our campsite. Once there it wasn't too bad to get in, but we saw and talked to many people who had problems trying to get a bigger rig parked here. There are no hookups of any kind throughout the park, something which was not obvious to us when we booked the site. Also, because you are under the big trees you never really get much sunlight, more of a perpetual twilight. On the flipside you are staying right in the Redwoods! Gorgeous huge trees all around, nature trails that lead you to enormous groves right outside your door, and right next to a beautiful river. Showers take quarters but are very nice and the Visitor Center is great and helpful. Try a Ranger-led hike, very informative! If you have a smaller trailer and want to be right in the natural world you're coming to see this is the place for you! Certainly no wifi and cell coverage is little to none in the park.
