Reviews for Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA

| Outta sight

This isn't a bad park, but there's nothing great or exceptional about it EXCEPT for the $55 price tag. Every KOA I've ever been to us over priced, but $55/ngt. In rural Pennsylvania is insane.

| Good Value and Convenient

By user-4950237... on 2017-10-23.

We've used this park traveling through the area on our way to and from New Hampshire, a full day drive, but one of the few parks convenient to the interstate that's open all year. The park has good, long full hookup pull through sites. The staff has been very helpful in reserving us an easy in/out site that does not require disconnecting from our 5th wheel. There are outstanding services at the exit - food, fuel, etc., many open 24 hours. The campground store has a good selection of rv supplies and a decent small grocery. Our level site had good steady 50 amp power and good water pressure. WiFi service was spotty, cell phone service (Verizon) was good. Rates were reasonable considering the market and location.

| Pretty park conveniently located just off the interstate

We stayed in a 38 ft motor home with a toad. The pull thru site was plenty less no enough, no need to unhook and room to spare. The roads thru the park were wide and the easy to maneuver. The sites had nice paved picnic tables with fire pit and some sites were even getting an upgrade. Some of the spots were very roomy and we saw one that was a shared pad for "buddy camping". We were very impressed with the campground. There was a truck stop that had plenty of room for us at the vehicle island.

| One of the worst KOA's

This KOA is dirty, muddy and tight between sites. We had booked a 50 amp site, when we arrived we were given a 30 amp that was extremely hard to back into at the creek side and right next to the road. The cover plate was falling off the power box. When I asked why, they told me my reservation requested it. I use the KOA app and DID NOT request it, I can't tell if it is an app problem or the campgrounds, they had no other sites. When I asked I was told there was no manager or owner on site at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, just 5 teenagers running the campground and restaurant. They told me since I wanted to cancel my reservation within 1 hour of check-in they would refund my charges. We went 7 miles down the road to Twin Grove RV Resort & Cottages, the staff was very friendly, Clayton took great care of us. They have a beautiful park, well kept, clean and spacious, try Twin Grove instead of the KOA.

| Nice quiet park off interstate

Very convenient for stopover if traveling North or South on 81. Site was packed gravel with patio, table, & Fire ring. We had pull thru site #86 - very spacious. We camped in a 35ft motorhome and could leave the tow attached. Neat amenity was food service delivery to the site from their general store. Menu had good assortment of sandwiches and sides. Satellite worked well and the free WiFi too. Would camp here with children as they have free shuttle to Hershey Park. Would stay here again.

| Great for an overnight

Close to I 81, with a nice on site restaurant, this KOA is good for travellers looking for a break from the road. No pool, nice playground, good dog park. Some sites are seasonal but most are transient. Pull thru sites are full hookup, limited cable TV, have patios, gravel and level. Tent area. Sites on the south side are close to a noisy county road. Open all year.

| Parking lot camping

We spent a weekend here a few years ago and we're very disappointed. It's a good overnight stop but the sites are painfully close to each other.

We sat at the entrance for 30 minutes. A young girl drove us around the park to our lot, the wrong way..... the bath house is deplorable, tiles falling off the ceiling, moldy and wet. The paths are muddy and full of water. Turning is tight, i hit a wood pole at a corner denting the side and ruining the door >:( i was their less than an hour and was ready to drive back to Michigan.
