We stayed at JP Coleman for a couple of nights. We have been to the Pickwick Lake area and did not care for the previous park, so we were skeptical of this one. We were in Site 21 with a small 19' Coleman travel trailer and was pleasantly surprised by the level site, view of the lake, and shade! There are a couple of different loops, but the Loop we were on was sites 10-25 were not as close to the Lake as sites 25-69. The bath house was nice and clean, had 2 showers that had good hot water and ice cold A/C. You could access the Lake from our site, but the hill was a tad steep. Just watch your step going down to the lake area. There was also a business retreat cabin that had a sweet little trail just to the left that would take you down to a beautiful view of the lake. Take a couple of chairs and enjoy the sounds of the waves! If you like to fish and boat, this is a great place. We did neither, but just enjoyed the quiet time. Cell phone service is not great and WiFi is non existent. There is also a nice lodge that has rooms available as well as some cabins. I would recommend you check it out.

We stayed in site #59. Campsite was VERY uneven and the table was not in a good place. We didn't have room to park our truck without being in the road a little. We were right on the lake though. They really need to do a little work on the sites. With all of that said, it was still a beautiful state park. Sites 56 & 57 would be great sites. The area was level and you were still right on the lake. We will go back for sure. Make sure you don't need groceries, its a little ways to a store.
