Reviews for Kamp Klamath RV Park

| Warning to tent campers

The location was amazing! We were so excited. Unfortunately, we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Quite time is not enforced. 2 sites from us, a couple thought they were the new Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Midnight we finally contacted the camp host. He wasn't too concerned. We don't know if he even walked over to tell them to be quiet. Another camper told them to be quiet. Tent sites are along a "no outlet" road. Traffic all night. The rooster crowing in the early morning was the cherry on top of a restless evening. Near the tent sites is a restroom with showers. 2 stalls for women 1 stall for men and 1 urinal. 2 were clogged. Bathrooms were disgusting. STRONG smell of urine. camping would be wonderful as long as it's self contained. I would go back for RV camping.

| Great location, spacious sites

Great location. A short drive to the end of this road leads to an amazing driftwood beach with amazing wildlife - seals, whales, osprey, ... It is where the Klamath River meets the Pacific. The campground had spacious sites, friendly and helpful staff, and clean restrooms with free hot showers. There is also a trail to the river which is really nice for dog walking since dogs are not allowed at beach. We had a great stay here. One of our favorite campgrounds.

| Location great, bathrooms not so much, friendly staff.

If you are self contained and not have to use the bath house it would be ok. The staff is very friendly, great people. Nice setting along the river. Full time campers with really run down vehicles. Also some over-nighters with nice set-up mixed in together. Not the worst place but not great. I actually enjoyed the rooster crowing at dawn, it was quaint. If you are an early riser, it's nostalgic. Good stay if you don't need the bathroom or shower.

This campground is located a couple miles off the main road (101) making it serene and restful. Kevin greeted us as soon as we arrived and escorted us to our site. He later checked back to see that we we all set. Nice guy! The sites have gravel for your rig and a small grassy area with picnic table. Not huge but plenty of room to get your slides out comfortably. Our site was nice and level. Did not use the facilities so can’t speak to that. The park WiFi sucks, lucky to view your email. Our Verizon jetpack worked great but the phone was in and out all over the general area. We came at the end of the rainy season so I’ll give them a pass on the grassy needing to be cut. As we leave they are preparing to plant thousands of flowers so soon it will be beautiful. The campstore is a bit of a joke, but they have a few things. It’s not yet their season so we didn’t get to try out their Sat. Night BBQ. We would definitely come back, so perhaps next time.

Rv sites were nice, great location near redwood parks, beach, and whale watching. Staff was very friendly. Didn’t need or use their restrooms.

| One of awesome Rv Park we found among the road

We found this park with Passport America which gave us 50% savings. We paid $170 for one week. That s unheard of in CA. They also accept Good Sams and AAA. We read reviews here and other places and we decided to give it a try. We re so glad we did! It s a couple of miles off of HWY 101 and the last camp ground on the road which buffers the highway noise. We were surrounded 360 degrees by nature. We liked that RVs were on one side and they had excellent tent camping on the other. We found the entire park, including the bathroom and showers clean. The staff is friendly. They escorted us to one site that couldn t accommodate our length and then promptly moved us to another site that worked perfectly. The little store in the office has a few essentials. It s not a grocery store or Walmart. At check in, they told us they have a bbq on Saturday nights with chicken, salmon, veggies and a live band. You can pay for dinner, or just join in for dancing, etc. They also offered breakfast burritos on Sunday morning. They have their own garden for veggies and raise chickens for fresh eggs, etc. I ve read some terrible reviews and some great ones. We ve found terrible parks and great ones. We ll be back to this one. The area is gorgeous and from the many Rv parks that surround this area, this one is smaller, quieter and more nestled than the rest. It s proximity to Gold Bluff Beach, Elk Meadow, Trees of Mystery, the Klammoth River, and Crescent City made this stop one of our favorites!

| Pretty Park, Poor Policy & Site Services

We have stayed at Kamp Klamath before. Before you make a reservation, and offer your CC. They would take a $50 deposit. They when you arrive at check in you would take care of the invoice and receive your Good Sam discount. This time when we made our reservation and gave CC, they charged our CC for the site in advance. When we arrived to check in, they refused to give us the advertised Good Sam discount. They stated they already charged our card, and that nothing could be done. We said that's not good business, and asked for our Good Sam discount in CASH. They refused. The site they placed us in was a different kind of site. Wiring problems with one electrical plug. The power pole had two 30 AMP plugs in it. One side had a 30 AMP breaker, and the other side had a 50 AMP breaker. The 30 AMP breaker plug didn't work. We plugged into the 30 AMP plug with the 50 AMP breaker. We have Progressive Industries whole coach serge protection, and we were good to go. All utilities are BEHIND the 35 FT coach. Had to use 2-25 ft hoses for shore water, needed about 30-31 FT to connect. On another note, we needed 5 (five) orange Logo type blocks (stacked) in the front on both sides to get level. The above said, campers beware. We will be reporting this park to Good Sam. Good Sam policy is showing card at check in, means you receive a discount. Besides I don't think Good Sam knows about this parks current state of disrepair.

| Reviewed for BIG RIGS, may be ok for others

By user-6474174... on 2019-08-09.

DO NOT CAMP HERE, 35 footers and up. The staff all VERY NICE, no problem. Passport rates are great, no problem. This campground is definitely not suitable for BIG RIGS despite what they tell you. We viewed all pull through sites, too small and wooded, no satellite possible, no room for toad.. We (40 ft fiver and 37 ft motorhome) ended up in The Glen, which is a field. Sewer hoses didn t reach, had to buy extenders and only 30 amp and no service on ATT. And worse of all, WE GOT MICE, FIRST TIME IN THREE YEARS OF CAMPING. I really hesitated writing this review as the campground is probably fine for some folks and fine for tenters or smaller rigs. I just wanted to warn big rigs, wish someone would have done the same for us!

| Friendly and private

Close to a private beach, wooded and homey. One of our favorite stops!

| Crowded sights poor sight amenities

By user-6108125... on 2019-08-09.

Our site was so crowded to the other RVs that we could not extend our canopy all the Way, there was no picnic table or a proper fire pit. It was convenient for access to the national Park.
