This is a nice state park. There were many vault toilets and one relatively new shower house. Very quiet in the middle of the week after Labor Day. It was a nice base for travel to the many hiking trails in the area and the bike trail between Long Lake and Mauthe lake. Be sure to check the lake level before you go. The boat launch and about 0.3 miles of the 6.5 mile bike trail between Mauthe lake and Long lake were under water as was the nature trail around Mauthe Lake. We ended up driving up to Long lake with our bikes, riding the trail down to a point just before the dam and then riding back up as the trail could not be reached from the Mauthe Lake campground. Prices for all Wisconsin state parks were raised at the start of 2016 so check the Wisconsin DNR website for current pricing. Also, be aware that Mauthe Lake, Long Lake, and Devils Lake are all on the National Ice Age trail so that holders of the National Senior Pass do not need to pay the Wisconsin vehicle admission fee ($11.00 for out of staters).
