This appears to be a fairly new campground. Sites have plenty of space in between and some are even set in the trees, Ours was not but the site was level. Bathrooms and showers were super clean. Wifi was so so. I believe all the sites has full hookups. Soldotna is a great little town. Be sure and visit Moose on the Loose for some awesome donuts and pastries. I would stay here again if in the area.
We have been on our Alaska Adventure for 6 weeks. Klondike is the best RV park we've stayed. Clean, well-kept, wi-fi, friendly, and convenient to Sterling Hwy (and The Moose is Loose Bakery). We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here 5 days and it's a lovely, clean, well-maintained park. Theowner and workers are wonderful. Actually ended up needing to extend our original 3 day reservation for 2 extra days. He gladly worked at keeping us on the same site so we didn't have to move. The sites are varying sizes, level, some with trees. Laundry is clean and the least expensive we've found in Alaska. Do go to Moose is Loose Bakery! And so drive to Homer and stop at Ninilchik Beach and Anchor Point. Eagles everywhere on the beach.
Checked in and there was no problem with our staying a couple of nights in fact when we checked in we told the staff we may extend our visit and they told us no problem, you can stay the site indefinitely. Two days later, I went to the office to extend our visit I was promptly told the site were taken and we needed to vacate them. The owner stated we could have an electric only spot for the same price but he could do no better than that explaining it was a mistake that someone forgot to block our sites out in the reservation system. It became clearly obvious to me he more concerned with the incoming traffic than he was at retaining his current customer. We moved on down the road the next morning. Do not stay here unless you have in writing the dates you wish to stay.
Ok, the park is great. It is spacious and immaculately maintained. The grass between sites (rare) is green and the site was absolutely level. But... we ended up at site 35, which is literally right on Funny River Rd, which is busy, all the time. That site is 30 feet from the road and there are no shrubs or a fence. I hate to rate an entire park on one site, but that was my experience. I know if I had a site further in, it would have been great, but as it was, we had a hard time sleeping. Just be sure to avoid site 35 and enjoy the park.
