Fabulous Site - Fabulous Hosts!
By user-6447659... on 2017-10-23.
I had driven over 1400 miles in 2 days and took a chance that I could get into this lovely park late on a Saturday. The park was full, but the hosts delightfully accomodated my little "class B" rv and put me up at the "overflow" lot. Charlie and Cathy couldn't have been nicer and Charlie also helped me with my water pump difficulties and made sure I got hook-ups for the evening. Turns out my "overflow" lot delivered a beautiful sunset and very peaceful nights rest. I plan to go back on my next visit to this area. Thankyou so much to Cathy and Charlie!

Great little park
By user-5223952... on 2017-10-23.
We had boondocked a few days in the area and went looking for a free place to get potable water. We found free dumping but didn't have enough money on hand to fill our tanks (25 cents per 16 gallons). So we stopped here to ask if there was any place to get free water. Apparently there's not. We were one day away from payday and the owners let us stay overnight and we paid them the next morning. Great people, very nice, family friendly (they had no problem with the kids drawing with chalk on the concrete pad, we asked first). The park is small but well kept. For our family of 5 and with Passport America discount we paid $24.05. Definitely recommend.

Small and quite
By user-5807973... on 2017-10-23.
We stayed here to go to Mesa Verde. A small campground with even gravel pads. Very easy to work with and took Passport America. Showers were old, but very clean. Would stay again for sure.

Clean and well run. I did not use the restroom/showers but I looked them over and they looked well kept and more than adequate. Good Wi-Fi, water pressure and free basic cable.
Feels a little crowded. The park is a little small being in the city, but was fine for my one night. There were several long term RVs with larger propane tanks hooked up, but the areas around them were orderly and clean.
Check the website for current prices. I paid 20.80 including tax with Passport America.

The owner is very nice & couldn't help us enough. The park is small but well maintained. Will stat again when we get back to the area.

Convenient location

This park was very close to Mesa Verde NP and Canyons of the Ancients NM. Also beautiful one day drives to Telluride and Durango/Silverton. Located in town but still quiet. Cable available only with box but OTA was adequate. Not allowed use of gas grill directly on picnic table so we had to purchase a stand. Hosts Alan and Delores were great and willing to help in any way including local information and sites of interest.

Not as advertised
By user-6739024... on 2018-07-06.
Prices were not as advertised as they were charging $40+ for a pull-in spot. Campsites were VERY close together and right up on each other. Bathrooms looked kinda junky too. Would not recommend.

A Great Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at La Mesa RV Park. The grounds are very clean and tidy. The camp site spacings were very adequate, and not at all close, in our opinion. We got a pull-through site. We were unable to visit Mesa Verde to its fullest this trip, but when we return, we will stay at La Mesa again!!

Few day stay

When we arrived office was not open as manger out. Elderly gentleman checked us in at the picnic table. He also gave us brochures on local businesses and things to see.
Campground is gravel with level sites and picnic table, does have shade trees, pull thru was long enough for our 40 5th wheel and truck.
About half of sites are taken by people who must work in area. Park is very quiet despite being near Us160 and 145.
Recommend use campground directions and come in from east as is a very difficult left turn into grounds as it is next to the right turn lane coming off of Hwy 145.
Campground is almost next to Maverick gas station a few blocks from truck wash and laundromat.
We did not use bathrooms and there is only one washing machine that was under repairs. There were enough OTA tv stations to satisfy us. At&T cell service worked ok.
We would stay agin.
