Laguna Vista RV Park

The owners must have a good sense of humor. The “Laguna” is a little pond with some ducks and big damn hay bales. The “RV Park” is a totally gravel/rock, slanted/sloped parking lot with electric hookups. The office is a shed on cinderblocks. They took my money (I paid cash because the credit card machine wouldn’t work, and good thing I did, because I later learned that they would have charged me an EXTRA $3 if I charged it) and told me to pick a “site.” All gravel and rock, no pad or even just flat dirt to put a rug on, so don’t think you’ll be sitting outside enjoying the weather. No picnic table, no fire ring. The wifi wasn’t working because it had been struck by lightening a few day before. We did not look at the showers or laundry. We had a bad storm that night with tornado watches and we were kind of scared because there was NO place to go for safety ... the office was a shed on cinderblocks and the other building was just a small wood-frame. Glad we were only there one night. Drive by this one!

No frills, just a clean quiet place to stay. There are long stay RVs there but they are well maintained. The whole park is gravel with some what uneven sites, but we were able to stay the night without leveling the rig.

Yes, it's a gravel lot, for $17.50. Last week I paid $40 for mostly mud. Yes, the WiFi is less than stellar for $17.50. Last night I paid $60 for WiFi that was intermittent and painfully slow when it did work. Unlike most campgrounds, there is no train here. Two weeks ago I stayed at a place that had not only continuous trains but all night military helicopters the size of a house flying over the campground. My point is, this is a great place to sleep. Quiet with good water and electric, what else do you need?
