A bit out of town and away from the hussle and bussle, but isn't that what camping is all about!!! Great place, great price, great views!! See you again!! Thx you from Delta B.C.

Very nice county park with all back in sites. Water and electric on most. Several sites close to lake with water only. Sites are compacted sand with picnic tables and fire pits. Wifi is in small gazebo at entrance to campground - no service to RV's. Camp hosts and rangers friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Arrived 1-10-18 and departed 1-18-18. Wonderful county operated family friendly park. Donna handled our check-in beautifully. She was informative, patient and very helpful (as are the rest of the staff). Although we could have affordably chosen an electric/water, or, water only hookup, we opted for the primitive area along the water. All have access to water fill and dump station. Pelicans, scoter ducks, and swans entertained us on the lake. Fishermen weren't often rewarded, but were WELL rewarded by good sized trout. Walking trail around lake was level and picturesque. Didn't get time to experience mountain hiking trails, or, off-road trails in wash to South. Although quiet and secluded, the park was convenient to Palm Desert/Palm Springs restaurants and resources. You have GOT to go to the "Jackalope". Golf, polo, mountain skyride, the Anzo Borrego, all within a short drive. We're coming back!

We return to this favorite "holding pattern" to pick up a family member, leaving 3-27 to begin our seasonal journey home. We were again graciously welcomed by Donna and another lady, who checked us in quickly and professionally. Larger groups of weekend area residents made it difficult to get to the 2 water faucets available for campers in the primitive area because they camped in front of the faucets, blocking access to them. Very friendly though and willing to move aside to accommodate us. We decided to try what we thought was an off-road vehicle area south of the park, but discovered that it was for foot traffic only. Drove to the entrance of the park to take a hike from a trailhead just outside the gate, so we parked just outside the gate in a large gravel lot next to the trailhead sign. An attendant from the gate office walked/jogged the 75 yards before I could get out of my car and began chastising us for parking in an unauthorised place. She was accusatory and made us feel like we'd just broken every rule and stepped on her last nerve! She then, step by step told us how to drive through the gate, get our permit "properly checked, and proceed to the appropriate parking lot. She never asked if I was disabled or not (I am). After following the "lady's) instructions, we discovered the trail wasn't that good so we returned to our motorhome to spend the afternoon. Donna, and the Park still get 4 stars, the "lady" not so much.

U.K. visitor. Had two nights at Lake Cahuilla $35 a night with hookup. Staff are friendly especially Bob. Bathroom facilities are basic but adequate. Would recommend for a peaceful camping experience in the mountains.

| Need more staff at entrance

The place was OK for the money. Definitely different than what you'll find for RV parks in the rest of Palm Springs. They do need more staff on though at prime check in times. Maybe someone who only deals with the day-use people?

I thought this was nice and clean with friendly, helpful staff. Shower was only .25 for 3 minutes and it was clean with hot water. Higher rates due to Stagecoach event in Indio, but still much lower than everyone else.
