Overpriced for a state park or a little shy because of the tornadoes quiet though but it's tough to get to if you have a big rig coming from Huntsville
We are frequent supporters of Alabama state parks and had not been back here much since upgrades after tornados. We stopped by to pick out campsites for several of us that are planning big trip in caravan. We were told they would charge us 2.00 to ride through to do this. We have all changed our plans and route to another park.
First park for first time rv'ers. Very impressed. Clean, beautiful and helpful staff. We should return.
Decently maintained park right on beautiful Lake Guntersville. Bit pricey, but at least the facilities and adequate and the location is superb.
May 2018: spent a week in this beautiful campground. All facilities are kept in immaculate condition. Staff goes out of their way to make your stay great. You won’t regret it!
Full hookups, plenty of space. Scenery was beautiful. I will definitely stay here again.
A nice state park. Most of the sites were back ins even for the large rigs. Well kept sites and clean amenities. Lots to do and see in the area. If you love to fish there is easy access to the lake. Just grab your equipment and easy walk to the lake.
Stayed at the park three times in 2018. Beautiful park, friendly staff. Volunteers keep grounds and facilities clean. Great food at the lodge especially the breakfast buffet.
My family decided to stay here for 31 days and we have not regretted a single day of our stay. The staff here are very friendly and helpful, willing to do what it takes to accommodate us. The wild life here is fantastic! most every evening you will see one or two herds of deer, some are very much at ease with humans and will come within 4 to 5 feet from you. I have been privy to watching a hawk and Bald eagle square off over the lake, as well as being able enjoy all of the ducks and geese on the lake. The grounds are well maintained, it is quiet and all around relaxing.
Love this State park , been coming regular for a week avery spring & fall. My disappointment with there reservation system. If you want to reserve a particular site say In G section 6 months in advance it's not open to reserve because the management has not "open" it up and will not until A,B,C,D,E,&F sections have fill up . They advise you to call avery week until that section is OPENED !! BAD BUSINESS FOR A PARK THAT TAKES RESERVATIONS.
We have made four trips from North Carolina in 2019 staying 10 days each time. The campground is not only beautiful with great accommodations, the staff and volunteers are the best.
