| Quiet Winter Retreat

I imagine this resort is jam packed with campers and boaters during summer months. In January only 3 campgrounds were open and all were virtually deserted. We stayed in the Oak Knoll campground because it is the only campground at Nacimiento with full hookups. Sites are small - narrow and short. Hookups are almost all on the wrong side of the pad so you have to step over or around your utilities when coming and going. Bathrooms were neat and clean. Showers were free, had plenty of hot water but the unheated building was chilly. The entire resort looks a bit neglected. Broken asphalt, erosion, and the deck railings at the rental lodges had warning signs telling people not to lean on them. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would go back again in winter just for the peace and quiet.
