We have driven the short distance from our home to this park when we wanted to get away for a short camping outing several times over the last few years. It is a beautiful park well maintained and nestled among trees on gorgeous Lake Ouachita. Very popular, you usually need to make reservations well in advance to assure you get the most desirable sites. Great for longer stays. Run by state park system it is clean with sparkling restrooms and showers. Nearby activities include boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking.
Huge lake. Swimming beach, nice camping spots, beautiful cabins, pedal boats, fresh-water springs. Lots of island in the lake you can boat out to and stay on as long as you wish. Close to Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Hot Springs Village. What's not to like?
