| Very nice place

By user-5891276... on 2018-06-27. Stayed 2015-09-02 to 2015-09-04

Traveling with 40 foot RV and 2 kids. Well kept campground with heated pool and great laundry room ($1.75/load). Close to whiteface mountain and lake placid. It was quiet when we stayed as it was midweek. Great store where we picked up a couple of souvenirs. They serve breakfast upstairs in the office ($). Would definitely stay again.

| Pretty good

This campground was pretty good. Had ok distance between sites, had a great dog walking area, has goofy golf which we didn't use and the store must have had over 100 kinds of bottle beer. Very friendly people. We camped in a motorhome and would stay again

| Nice rustic campground

We have stayed at this KOA several times over the past 6 years and always enjoy our visits. The staff and very friendly and helpful. Well stocked camp store and small snack shack. Down behind and campground is a fantastic river with a 12 foot water fall into a huge natural pool. There are rock cliffs to jump from into the pool. There are many different site options from 50 amp full hookup to wooded tent site with no services. Big rife should stay in the first free rows as the back rows get a little tight and only have 30 amp. We had L05 and were able to park our 35 5er with a little maneuvering. The overhead branches were a little problem. It was cool weather with no AC needed so 30 amp was fine this trip. Short drive into Lake Placid, Whiteface Mtn and awesome bike riding.

About

The views are worthy of the gods, but you don't have to be an Olympian to enjoy them. The views are worthy of the gods, but you don't have to be an Olympian to enjoy them. Set among tall pines and white birches, the Lake Placid KOA lets you see why this gorgeous Adirondack Mountains countryside was chosen as the site for the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. This campground features spacious big-rig sites with a separate tent area, lean-tos and Kabins overlooking the trout-famous Ausable River. Mountain-hike from site or take advantage of canoe and kayak rentals, fun-cycles, mini golf, hayrides, movies, a game room, a playground, a snack bar and planned activities. Enjoy the campground's heated pool and socialize in the Adirondack-style lodge. Special weekends include dinners and DJ music.
