Lake Stephens Campground

| Beautiful place, but...

This is a beautiful little lake in a beautiful part of the country. I would be giving the campground five stars except for: 1) The sites are very small - 50 ft long and extremely close together. The sewer pipe is several feet in from the water and electric utilities making it difficult not to run over the sewer when pulling into the site it a larger fiver or motorhome. One vehicle may be parked in the street behind the RV and, if you have a second vehicle, it must be parked remotely. 2) There are a large number of seasonal/permanent sites with older, poorly maintained trailers and junked-up sites. 3) This is a county park which is now "managed" by an extended family. The two people I have interacted with seemed nice - until there was an issue to be resolved/talked about. The response was to become defensive and accuse me of "jumping on" the park manager on the phone. As a retired military officer and senior manager, this is not how I operate.
