We were looking for a campsite on our way to Joshua Tree park and found two: green acres and this one. Because this campsite said '55+' we thought we'd better take the other one. But from the road you could see it, and it looked horrible. So we said we'll try Lake Tamarisk. We were more than welcome. And though the office was just closed we could register by a perfect prepared form outside of the office. It is really a beautifull place! A green oasis in the middle of the desert, that's really what it is. Beautifull lawns and palmtrees. Clean and nice restrooms and shower. And not to forget a great pool and hottub! Quite some rules for using it, but it keeps it clean and nice! Really nice people here! Good wifi. We recommend it to everyone! :-)
We had a bad day with tire trouble on our rig, but arriving here gave us an opportunity to relax and recoup. It is really, really quiet. If you want a party this isn't the place, but if you want to play a little golf or meet some nice folks Lake Tamarisk Resort will do. Cheap..clean and efficient.
We stayed three nights, Nice community feel, everyone was super friendly. Lots of grass for the dog, who was largely accepted. The golf course, though not immaculate was lots of fun, with a couple long holes. I would recommend this place, though call ahead, as there are lots of seasonal folks here. mKA
