My wife and I always loved camping in the South Lakeport campgrounds until this year. There is no fresh water faucets available this year to get potable clean water unless you go to the North campgrounds. We were harrassed by park rangers for merely talking around a campfire. Not only did they warn us the night in question, but they knocked on our camper door the following morning before we were awake to REMIND us again about the previous nights warning! This boarders on harassment. Looking for new favorite local campground now
Beautiful area. Woods are great. Roomy sites. This is our new favorite.
North side is the preferred. Annual horseshoe tournament is awesome. Clean facilities and friendly rangers.
We spent a great weekend at lakeport (last weekend of April). It was about half full. No issues of any type. Bathrooms are spotless and park excellently maintained. Highly recommend this Park.
We arrived here without a reservation, and there was plenty room, but it was a weekday. Rate as stated ($27), but we forgot there was a $9/daily state park entrance fee (or you can buy an annual pass for $32). We stayed on #28 in the North Lot, with just a few trees between us and the shores of Lake Huron. The staff were great, very friendly and informative. We walked around, and all the campgrounds looked clean, well maintained and mostly level. Facilities were clean. Great beach.

Pleasant grass sites great beach access. Need extra long electric cords. Clean warm shower. Good stuff
